I honestly haven't watched much this year without fans
I hope Chelsea win just for the upset...
Man City will win the Champions League - but to add a little interest Chelski have beaten them twice recently!

I think its time for the PeterL22 Premier League Awards for 2020-21

Manager of the year,
Per Guardiola (or however you spell it) - for winning most things with a squad that cost billions and any idiot (even me) could get to win stuff
Bielsa (Leeds) for getting his players to bully the opposition off the park, but providing entertaining matches.
(He must be Jack Duckworth from Coronation Street's twin brother)
Sean Dyche - for keeping Burnley safe (again) with a budget that would't cover the cost of Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool's back four costs.

Obvious winner is Dyche! - Honourable mention for David Moyes for actually getting West Ham to play some football (and not kick the opposition off the pitch)!
More tomorrow
I wonder if anyone has ever done an analysis of points/salary - i.e., how many millions of pounds per point. I think some of the lesser teams might move up the ranks in this scenario.
That thought struck me too.
I also wondered about points per million spent on transfer fees!
Here was certainly a sin worth sinning and I applied myself with characteristic vigour to its practice

Today's awards are

1 BIGGEST CHEAT IN PREMIER LEAGUE
1. Wilfred Zaha (Palace) - spends more time rolling around on the ground than a toddler having a tantrum (and also has tantrums when referees ignore his dives)
2. Jack Grealish (Villa) - if you run past him to fast, the wind blows him over. (Shame as he may be able to play a bit)
3. Sadio Mane (Liverpool) - started in the Tom Daly school of diving down here and has mastered the craft up on Merseyside

And the winner is .....

For a 6th year running (or falling) Zaha.
Honourable mention for upcoming(down going) new signing at Palace Eze (who seems to betaking lessons from the master!).

2.BIGGEST FAILURE IN PREMIER LEAGUE
1. Jurgen Klopp (aka The Sour Kraut) - big failure NOT to reach Champions League OR win anything - Scousers won't let him off, and he may be on borrowed time!
2. European Super League - who really wants to watch the same dozen teams play each other 4 times a year with nothing (but money) at stake. I don't bother watching Liverpool v Man Utd games as it is and Juventus v Real Madrid - do me a favour!
3. VAR - some of the decisions have been a joke - Saints have had 2 red cards overturned that were endorsed by VAR (for example). The on-field ref in PL rarely actually looks at the action and when you can be offside by leaning forward - Arghhh

And the winner is .........

Has to be VAR - I hoped when it came in it would help get rid of some of the bias that was shown by referees towards the "big" clubs - the only difference now is that VAR has the same bias!
Here was certainly a sin worth sinning and I applied myself with characteristic vigour to its practice

Interesting that the "big 6" are squarely at the bottom of the table! Just as I suspected!!

When you said City, you meant Liverpool, right?

Besides, I thought you followed Spurs...

Back in my university days, Liverpool - Leeds was a big rivalry. I still remember the old names - Peter Lorimer, Norman Hunter, Billy Bremner. War of the Roses on the football pitch.

They did well in their first year back.

der Bomber. Sorry Liz.

And thanks for the post Rokker. That goal number 3, I remember seeing him score in almost exactly the same away against Gordon Banks to put England out of a European competition.

Chelsea ran wild today when I was watching today. I think it was them. 4 goals to none when I stopped.
...and she said " Let's go for it, the rooms already paid for!"
