I think you're right on that, Vicky. People do have a responsibility to take certain precautions. If you say you didn't read the rules before clicking, (and who of us does,) you pretty much give up the house.

And the craziest thing of all, and the one that did in Kaydens investment, these guys wanted to go IPO…

The sad part There have been at east two suicides and dozens of divorces (more to come I am sure) over Ashley Madison…..If you are the wife of a guy that was on ASHLEY MADISON remember this…yes he prolly hoped he could cheat but the odds that he actually found someone to cheat with are way lower than if you sent him to the grocery store…WAY WAY lower.

Never really thought of that, but where the hell were all the women supposed to come from that all of the (20 some-odd million) men were supposed to cheat with?

Does this say that married men are blatant cheaters and that married women are generally not?

Or is it just that men have to pay for it, while women can easily get a free ride?

My main interest in all this mess is this: How many porn performers'/cam girl pics or videos were pilfered from legit sites and used as fake "profiles" to hook in impressionable men. Is this yet another Adult Friend Finder waiting to happen? And, if it is found that porn girls' images were used, could the affected girls sue for damages?

Also...makes me kind of queasy about other "hook-up" sites like Arrangement Finders and even Cougar Life...although, I'm sure they were far more secure and honest than AM ever attempted to be.

I know it's kind of like when you park your car in a parking lot and pay $30 to the guy, and there is a sign that says "not responsible for stolen items'. That sign is there to deter people from suing, but you can still sue. And win, at least that's what I've been told. But it's iffy, the lawyers on CNN were saying it could either way, and that lately with the rise of the internet, people are expected to read before they click the X in the box, and that lately judges have been siding with the websites. They called it the "clickwrap law" or something?

I could see the majority of users having trouble with a lawsuit, but what about the ones who paid to have their names removed? If their names were still in the database after they expressly paid a fee to have them removed, I would say they definitely have grounds for a suit.

That opinion is, of course, based upon my unassailable qualifications of having watched several episodes of Matlock.

Considering that several suits have apparently been denied because the claimants didn't read the privacy policy, I'm betting there is a clause in there that reads:

"There is no express promise that, upon payment of a fee to have your information removed from our files, that said removal will actually take place. The payment of said fee is solely for the purpose of placing your name on a list to have your information removed at some later date, to be determined by us. Should we actually ever get around to removing your name, you will be contacted for payment of another fee, to be determined at our sole discretion, you poor slob, you, to enact said removal. Should you not respond to our request for payment within 15 minutes, your name will be moved to the bottom of the list for consideration at some future, nondescript date."

But, BK....how many of those who trolled AM were actually cheating, and how many were simply single men looking for female companionship for cheap? The former should be held to account by their SO's for their betrayal; but the former don't deserve getting their private sexual history dumped out on the public.

Of course, if the AM execs had actually been more responsive about security AND not faking profiles to attract impressionable men, they probably wouldn't be in the efucked state they're in now. If you can pull 39 million active followers, you can afford simple encryption and two-stage authorization for protecting critical data.

Yeah. Take whatever it cost t join ($29.95?) and multiply that by 39 million and see what astronomical number you come up with.

Unfortunately, cheating has been around forever and will not go away. Some if the people I looked up to as good and decent people were proved to be cheaters. Not sure what it is. I never cheated on my wife, even when our marriage was going downhill, Hell, I never even dated two women at once. Doesn't mean I didn't want to on occasion. It just wasn't in my make-up. I was taught early that cheating was wrong, and didn't do it. If I felt an urge for someone, I walked away.

So I'm not going to castigate people who do. Emotion is a terribly strong feeling. I just wish more people could work through it.

what i found funny is that over 100 ESPN Employees where on that list including several women and not just low totem guys high level executives where on that list, now it's a small number of their total employees, i believe 4k in bristol, but still it's going to send waves throughout the company considering ESPN is owned by Disney/ABC
