Whiskey is pretty much the only alcohol I don't drink - probably bad experiences the I was younger. Normally I'm a wine drinker (I try to avoid beer now as too many means I have to work that much harder in the gym!)
My go to wines are normally a french Sancerre or a Chablis but a nice Pinot Grigio or Viognier always hits the spot.
It's coming up to what laughingly passes as a British summer soon so I'll be mixing the wine with an old favourite of Gin and Tonic. My go to gin is Tanqueray although there is a version called Tanqueray Rangpur which I urge all gin lovers to try.

I used to run a craft beer shop, so for several years I was sampling beers from all over the world as they came into my region. I've spent many summer evenings on my screened in porch sipping on some of the best brews that Belgium and Germany have to offer, as well as some of the fine brews coming from US brewers. I was definitely a beer connoisseur, picking up all kinds of small batch micro-brews and seasonal offerings. I've even been on road trips to pick up the famed Heady Topper in Vermont.

Since moving on from the shop I've come to appreciate cocktails, these days my preference is either Jack and ginger ale or Tito's Vodka and soda (tits and soda). I tend to go a little hard on the vodka though, damn things drink a little too easy.

Ok I am obsessed with pumpkin ale right now! Shipyard and Blue Moon...anyone else like these? I've been getting more into beer lately which is so unlike me!

Some of the pumpkin stuff can be good - I have had experience with many different brands. The one I used to buy for myself was the Smashed Pumpkin from Shipyard, a boozy 9% ABV, as sweet as pumpkin pie without going too heavy on the spice.

If you are getting into beer lately, the first one I was going to recommend was not your fathers rootbeer but I see you discovered it. I also really like Shock Top's honeycrisp apple wheat. Newcastle brown ale and not joking Monty Pythons Holy Ale. That one is kind of hard to find but I still run into it now and then. It's a brown ale also
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

Couple of days before Christmas, I went wine tasting with a couple of my friends andI have to tell you I fell in love with Castro Winery. Their wines are so delicious especially a wine called "Into The Darkness." You have to taste it.. so good! If you are more into the sweet side, their port is very good! I'm in love with it!

Well I recommend Beer and Scotch whiskey on the rocks(with Ice)

There is a peom in Australia that explains why we like beer:

You gotta have a Beer mate, to sooth ya bloody nerves,
I recon its the only thing us blokes do deserve.
In any situation to stop you feeling queer,
There is only one solution,
you gotta have a beer.
Smile and the world will smile with you.

There is always a great place in Santa Barbara called Corkscrew. They have this nice sparkling Rosé. Really nice and light.
