If obama did get involved and start working publicly to help harvey victims you would be all over him telling him stop trying to compete with trump, your term is over. Let trump do his job.

Besides u hv no idea what he has or hasnt donated to the hurricane relief fund. Not everyone is a media whore and makes donations just to get on tv. Some do it for the right reasons which is just to help, with no personal gain or publicity.

Trump on the other hand is going to get as much media coverage as humanly possible out of this, milking it all he can. Just my personal opinion. I dont think he personally cares about anyone except himself, all his past narcissistic comments on and off the record have proven that. He just views this whole natural disaster as an opportunity for more publicity and self promotion and feeding his own gigantic ego.

Vicky is right about the Obama's donating. It actually is no ones business what they give. I think the ones who tell are really bragging and want to get praises from people. Hi Vick, you appear discomfited. You've a short memory. Obama had no compunctions about upstaging Trump during his European tour, preceding him with meetings with Merkel, Macron and his other globalist cronies*.
As for my awareness of whether he has contributed or not - do you honestly believe the media would not be extolling his generosity endlessly yet, the “media whore Trump” ( as you refer to him) donates one million and ..........crickets. How would Trump have contributed without being accused of "personal gain or publicity". btw what "personal gain"?

This country needs a man who has accomplished immense attainments in his life, not one who is narcisstic as a consequence of faulty personality idiocynrocies. A man (Obama) consumed in life with one goal in mind - politics. And now he sulks abroad while a genuine leader brings solace to the afflicted ; sets an example for the world to see that Americans are Not racist, not egoistic, not divided and believe and rely one upon the other. The entire nation is focused on the victims of Harvey because of Trump's "gigantic ego". He's truly Making America Great Again much to Your and other democrats' dismay.

I was not speaking of President Trump (who is unashamed of his wealth and proudly boasted of it since day one) but of Our First Lady Milania.
As for the troops: need I mention once again Benghazi at which time "Barry" made the announcement, lied to us all and promptly flew to Las Vegas for a fund raiser; of insulting our armed forces by rescuing a traitorous bastard, Bergdahl, and calling him a "man who served with honor and distinction"'; of saluting the marines with a half filled cup of coffee in his hands; not once in eight years did he visit Normandy (even Bill Clinton had at least the balls to do that; smeared vets as possible domestic terrorists; ignored a marine imprisoned in Mexico(U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi); released terrorists from Guantanamo that our soldiers died to capture;cut military benefits while increasing those of federal workers; misrepresenting the Fort Hood massacre as "work place violence" thereby denying benefits to the widows; imposing ludicrous "rules of engagement placing every combat soldier's life in danger - shall I continue???
This man despised the military and neither you nor Vicky will ever convince me otherwise.

My question: why would we even chance losing millions of lives in an American city in the first holocaust on American soil!? There is a demonstrable madman in North Korea becoming increasingly desperate to remain in power. What happens when a rat-bastard is cornered? Do we really want to find out? Harry Truman knew what to do. Those were simpler times when Americans were rational. That noted military analyst Chris Wallace declaims the threats but is typically clueless when proffering real solutions. Whether we face it now or after the loss of millions of American lives, the North Korean threat simply cannot be tolerated now that they have the terrifying power of a hydrogen bomb. Our predictive ability has proven time after time to be woefully wrong. I ask President Trump "have the courage to pre-empt the loss of millions of Americans" before we are faced with a calamity of epic proportions.

ONE OF THE MOST PRESCIENT MEN IN WASHINGTON - FORMER AMBASSADOR JOHN BOLTON

While risking the approbation of most all on this forum, allow me to posit a thought. Have any of you, let alone all the analysts, politicians and talking heads in Washington, ever hunted four legged wild game? Have you ever poked a bear? Have you ever corned an animal, even a possum, which is consumed with fear? Those who have hunted have. Animals do not act rationally. Adrenaline consumes them. When denied “flight” they will “fight” no matter the logic. They will defend themselves, strike out against what they perceive as certain death in the implausible hope of survival. Think humans differ? You're wrong. These thoughts are preamble to my thesis that the conventional wisdom of pressuring China, continued negotiations, and using more effective economic sanctions will satisfy one purpose (if successful)- it will ensure the escalating desperation of a 27 year old megalomaniac who possesses a means of retaliation. If his removal and/or destruction is inevitable, if he perceives no way out, why would he not strike back with all his might at his perceived enemies?! My answer: he Would do just that, irrational though that action might be. This kind of two legged animal must not be cornered or wounded, he must be annihilated instantly and thoroughly. If we allow him to continue to strengthen, it merely guarantees a more massive retaliation. At that juncture, attacking him Would become unthinkable. This is the road we are now embarked upon. By short sighted thought and action we are allowing a situation now barely manageable to become one totally uncontrollable. We are quickly reaching the point of either losing tens of millions to the loss of hundreds of millions. The stakes become higher the longer the dithering continues. This concept is abhorrent to this generation. It is my sincere belief that had this mentality been present during Truman's era, we would Not have used atomic weapons. We would have opted for the protracted, ineluctable slaughter of millions of our military and millions of Japanese soldiers and civilians. We are at a decisive moment in history. Either we act in our self interest or we surrender the world to an endless expansion of a nuclear nightmare, a nightmare at the finger tips of the madmen of Islamofacism , of continued Iranian terrorism, of those who embrace death imbued with the concept that it is the beginning of life. Are we, as a responsible nation, prepared to accept this challenge?
