I found myself bitching..venting a few weeks back about a close relative of mine . Now today, I am packing a load of groceries for her and her husband, as they have nothing and she finally told me. WTF? Why, if you have family in the same STATE would you go hungry, before asking for help?

She hurt my feelings with her comments a few weeks back BUT don't we all do that from time to time? Judge others? Hmmm, who knows? Maybe she has so much going on right now, in her own life.... So many stresses in her life that she took it out on me, that day. Either way, I love her.

I think I have half my last Costco trip split and packed for her. What else could they use? Soap, paper towels, oh I better run to the store...TP!!! Everybody needs TP!

That's all very true, Emily. Asking for help is one of the hardest thing for people to do. We would rather cut off our arms than to ask for help, even when we seriously need that help. And for you to find out, then step up and do the right thing, is one of the noblest things we can do.

If she has nothing, for whatever reason, she is most likely under stress. Probably pretty hard stress. For her to finally tell you primarily indicates just how hard that stress is. So, remember that. By doing what you are doing, you are showing her that, whatever her comments to you were about, they don't matter. You are letting her know that, if she needs help, you are there for her.

And, nothing else matters.

Emily is currently in Minnesota dealing with a family medical issue. Her uncle has Leukemia, I think it was. They are trying Chemo. If successful they may try a new therapy on him. They are also treating him for pneumonia. So everyone, please send along your best wishes and prayers for her.

You can chat with her on Twitter, but please do not talk about medical issues. That is personal, family information. Please give her and her uncle best wishes for a full and speedy recovery here.
