OK as I am from WALES here is some facts. Wales has never been conquered. The Normans, Saxons, Romans all failed. The may Flower was the first ship to sail the Atlantic and we are the first settlers in Virginia and Dallas is named after Dowlais, where I was born. We occupied Canada & Argentina, because us Celtic folk can take freezing cold as we have become thick skinned. You Americans really grip our shit when you call the UK England. Wales is just a tiny country next door to England, but we give those little shits everything they need to live like kings. Our humour is very dry and we take the piss out of ourselves and everyone else. We have never tried to conquer any other land. We give as good as we get, but the only thing we will not tolerate is anyone trying to stop us singing. Be warned if you do then we will beat the living daylights out of you and do so in perfect harmony and perfect pitch. St David's Day is celebrated in costume, Welsh whisky, fighting in the streets, Welsh Cakes, shagging rampant orgies, jumping off bridges, buildings & mountains and pub crawls where death is welcome

Welcome KingKeyKid. Your great post reminded me of a joke posted elsewhere. Hope you find it humorous as well.

A guy stops at the local pub for an ale on the way home. Three rather portly ladies are sitting at the bar, joking around. He approaches them and says, "Excuse me, but I wondered by your accents. Are you ladies from Ireland?"

One rather gruffly replied, "It's Wales, you idiot. WALES!"

A bit put off, he responded, "Oh, I'm sorry. Are you Whales from Ireland?"

Doctor says he should be home in a week.
I can resist everything except temptation.

THE LOST SHEEP SHAGGER COMES HOME...Come here that I may take you in my arms. You will forget everything of this miserable hour. And your ninety-nine good sisters will rejoice at your return, because I tell you, my little lost sheep, there is more rejoicing among the good, for one who was lost and has been found, than for ninety-nine just who never left the fold. THANK EWE

You need to check the spellchecker on your PC Vicky - Whales are large aquatic mammals whereas you are talking about Wales - God's own country.
It is said that the sun never sets on Wales (because God doesn't trust the buggers in the dark!).

As promised, a friendly greeting that you can use to our English friends - "Twll du pob Saes!"
If you meet us Welsh a simple - "Shw'mae Butt?" will suffice (pronounced shoo my butt)

Cymru = Wales (the Welsh Nation).
Cymraeg = Welsh (God's own language)
Cymro = a Welsh man (as in ME!!!)
Gogledd = North - as in we South Walians call all the people from Bangor, Rhyl and Anglesey "Gogs" because they are from the North and weird!

(Happy St David's Day everyone - even the Saes amongst you)

Especially after the rugby on Saturday - we now have aFrench ref with Honorary Welsh Citizenship! Actually, I'm quite prepared to discuss any gripes you poor English might have about the game!!!!

I don't follow rugby, but that must have been one heck of a match! Congrats on the win.
