I don't follow baseball like I did when I was a kid. Just too dang slow, I think. I may watch the playoffs if Detroit is there. Might watch if the Rockies were there. On occasion I might watch a game on TV, but not often.

For the first time in a long time as a Blue Jay fan I'm slightly optimistic this spring for a fun baseball season. I think the Cubbies in the National League have a real shot at greatness and I'm not counting out at least 6 or 8 more teams who have a shot at October this year including Kansas City, San Fransisco, and or course the Cardinals who you can never count out any season.
Go Sports !!!

St. Louis sucks rotten eggs. They beat Detroit, soundly, in their 2006 World Series face-off. Revenge, I guess, for Detroit's win in 1968, 4 - 3.
I was in Detroit in 1968 when the Tigers took game 7 in St Louis. What a fucking all night party. The town went wild, and I was downtown right in the middle of it. And you know what? No shootings, no lootings, no burning. Sure not that way today. Seems like now, there's always an element that believes that winning a competition gives them the right to destroy their city.
I still say there was a lot to say for mandatory military service. It taught those little bastards some courtesy, manners and respect.

I'm going for Detroit in the AL, and the Dodgers in the NL, I love watching a good game, so relaxing. Mike some teams have a bad year, or a bad decade, but the Cubbies have had a bad century! Walt how was the party when the Cubs last won

It was great, Julie. We set the town on fire. Some people say it was Old Mrs. O'Leary's cow. But, really, it was us cooking hot dogs in the dugout.hotjulie wrote:...Mike some teams have a bad year, or a bad decade, but the Cubbies have had a bad century!
