I didn't know her, or, really, even know OF her (had heard the name.) But, still, way too young and I'm sure devastating to all who knew and loved her.

Kind of reminds me of Laura Brannigan. Had a pretty good singing career going. She had complained to friends about not feeling well for a couple days. Went home one evening, went to bed and never woke up. Of course, it's pretty difficult when it happens to anyone.

Its always tragic when young people pass away, especially when it is sudden and unexpected. I can't imagine what its like for a family to loose someone under those circumstances. I wish her family condolences in their time grief.

It is a sad thing to have heard. I am like Walt, when I read that she was younger than me, I was stunned. It is so sad to see someone go who is still young. Comforting and healing thoughts to her family.

They don't know but in a couple of reports there are some drug rumors when ever someone that young and in seems good health dies in there sleep they always suspect drugs

And so they have now outed her real name. One thing for porn performers to think about. When/if you die while you are active or shortly thereafter. everything will come out. If you have been hiding your career from your family and other friends, they will find out after you die. And it could be devastating to them. I don't know what the answer is, but it's something to think about.

I would hope that they would be devastated over my death and not my porn career. Seriously, anyone who would rather concern themselves with what I did while I was alive than mourn my death has no place in my life. I never met Amber but I know many others who have and said she was a sweetheart. Such a tragedy!

But look at what some actresses have gone thru when their families found out while they were alive. Take a actress from the central US, where Porn is generally abhorred. First, they found out that she died. Then they find out that she had this secret, "totally disgusting" life she was hiding from them. There have been those who found out that their sweet daughter, whom they thought was attending school, was in reality a street whore, dancing in nude clubs, doing drugs and selling her body for her next fix. And she was murdered by someone she went home with for the night (true story.) If you feel that that shouldn't bother them, then I say, good for you. But you must consider everyone, each of whom has a different viewpoint on life. It's no different than finding out your child is a murderer, a drug runner or worse. Are they not supposed to be affected by that?

And, you didn't mention whether or not your family knows about your chosen career. I hope your family supports your chosen profession. Not everyone is so lucky.

Of course if someone was murdered it should bother the family? What does that have to do with this post? Why are we talking about that, if that's not what happened. I don't think you can compare doing porn, with being a street whore being murdered? We don't do any of those things?

But I do know what you are saying Walt. I know that if I died tomorrow, the people who I associate with on a daily basis here, people who call themselves my friends, and have dinner with me every week, would be shocked and disgusted to find out what I do and they would talk about that, rather than mourn my passing. So I understand what you are saying. Any yes Maggie that is a really sad thing, for them. Because they say they are my friends, they even say they love me, but they don't even really know me. But that is exactly what would happen, they would freak out when they found out after I died.

Vicky, it is so sad but very true. The friends...my besties....I use that term loosely, when I told them what we are now embarking on.....they didn't agree with our choice and felt bad for our children and the legacy we are leaving behind for them...I was told this my oldest and dearest friend. She was so worried about if I'd be having sex with other men and how could I do what I am doing.....mind you these girls..besties of mine, were the BIGGEST sluts in school! It is very sad when anybody dies . She and those before her were somebodies world....daughter, sister...cousin. A loss of life and a loss so young is tragic and how dare ANYBODY take the time to degrade and humiliate them after their passing.

Some in the media have intimated that Ms. Rayne's death may have been somehow related to her accusations of sexual assault against actor James Deen. I truly doubt that that was anything but coincidence.

Mostly, though, let's see if some of the usual suspects exploit this to push the "Porn + Drugs = DEATH" meme.
