But unfortunately they are only going to show the first episode on tv. In order to watch any episode after that you will have to subscribe to CBS's paid streaming service.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

yep CBS is banking on all the Trekkies buying their streaming service, i'm hoping the opposite happens that no new subscriptions get sold. mostly likely the middle will happen some will buy in but many won't as they already have netflix, hulu and something else like rook or direct tv

I guess I'm pretty narrow when it comes to TV and movies. I really don't care for remakes. I like a particular show or movie because of the actors. A remake may even closely follow the original, but it's different people, so I can't get into it. For example, I certainly liked the original Star Trek, but I wasn't crazy about TNG or Deep Space Nine, Voyager or Enterprise. I think they were generally pretty good, and were popular, but I just didn't get anything out of them.

When they make a different story with different people, I pretty much am not interested. I haven't seen all the Star Trek movies, but one notable exception was the 2009 Star Trek, with Chris Pine as Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock. I did like that one. It supposedly defined the original formation of the Star Trek crew (Bones, Uhura, Scotty, Checkov and Sulu.) The actors were close enough to the original Star Trek that I could pretty easily believe it. I'll probably watch that new one, but won't subscribe to anything to watch follow-on's.
I can resist everything except temptation.

I have a feeling they are going to drop the only all access idea. If not they are going to get tons of hate mail and people are just going to find a way to pirate it

Did you know there are 7 seasons of each one?
I never could decide who I liked best as captain? Who did you like best?

I read this on the net:
Although the cast members were contracted for eight seasons, Paramount ended The Next Generation after seven, an unusual decision for a successful television show. Although doing so let the studio begin making films using the cast, the main reason was that additional seasons would likely have reduced the show's profitability, due to higher cast salaries and a lower price per episode when sold for stripping. The cancellation also encouraged viewers to watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and the forthcoming Star Trek: Voyager, both of which were much cheaper to make than The Next Generation. The show's strong ratings continued to the end; the series finale was ranked #2 among all shows that week, between fellow hits Home Improvement and Seinfeld.

I love Star Trek. I do hope they change minds about the streaming service idea. Not sure that's the way to go. Guess we'll see how that works.

Loved watching all the Star Trek shows and movies. But it'll probably depend on the cost
