I've Been Hesitant to Post This......

A couple of years ago my mom was diagnosed with bone cancer (don't recall what stage) stemming from her battle with breast cancer over 10 years ago. Things were rough for awhile but she seemed to get better. A couple of months ago, however, she started having the same issues she was having when she was initially diagnosed with the bone cancer. After all the x-rays, bone scans and mri's, turns out the cancer has returned. T-11 & T-12 in her back and one of her hips, I don't recall which one right now. She also has a hole in her right femur and she is going in for surgery in 10 days to have a metal rod inserted into the bone because the doctor is afraid that it could break. So if I'm not around for days at a time, helping mom out is the most likely scenario.

We will be here when you return to support if only in some place where you can put thoughts to paper (so to speak) and share our lives and our stories. Corey, as someone who just went through pretty much the same thing with my dad I know what it means to put your parents first. I left a job and girlfriend to spend time with him to make sure he was taken care of while he went through all his treatment. I would not have traded it for anything. Be strong in the days and weeks to come, your mom will feel that strength coming from you and use it. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Just an update. Mom's surgery has been pushed back to 2pm CDT today (Wednesday). I will post as soon as I know anything and once again, thanks again to everyone

Update. Mom's surgery went well, last I heard she was eating & conversing. She should be able to come home tomorrow if all is well
