MindGeek / Pornhub Exploitive?

I didn't actually see this myself, but i heard that pornhub changed their logo to blue/white/red to honor France yesterday? Is that a good thing to do or just completely exploitive and manipulative? I call BS. If I had a family member who was murdered or maimed in that attack, I could give a f* about pornhub changing their logo? I would find that insulting more than anything... especially knowing what thieves they are who don't actually respect anyone.

Unless some porn performer actually was directly impacted by the terror events in France, I'd probably would think that they wouldn't give two shakes what Pornhub says or does about anything. The only thing those suckas are really good for is stealing paid content.

I talked to a performer that said they started a Pornhub account because they give performers some of the Ad revenue and fine pirates when they are called out.
...
I feel that giving a fraction of the profits is still stealing. She said porn will be free anyways.
...
Vicky, what is your stance on performers with Pornhub accounts?

Thought this was funny.... oh the irony of it, the company who became a household name, rich and famous by stealing from others gets offended and sues and wins when someone does it to them. (mindgeek/brazzers/pornhub owns redtube)

There is a really interesting podcast I started listening to while on the treadmill in the mornings... check it out, it's free from now till october after that it's $24.95. I'm really enjoying it. It's spot-on. Fun to hear lots of people I know also! I put it in this thread because the first chapter is all about Fabian who started pornhub.

I really enjoyed the Butterfly Effect. I thought it was a good exploration of a bunch of issues. Well done and fun to listen to.

My only problem is that it seemed to fall into the trap, once in a while, of assuming controversial pastimes like porn 'cause' problems, instead of realizing that these problems need to be owned by the people who do wrong things.

I could understand the one star (was it Capri?) feeling guilty when they published her picture in a habit in a news story relating the person in Europe (was it a priest?) who did something and then had pictures of nun porn on his computer. It's natural to feel a little guilt ourselves, even when it isn't our fault. It was good (and also angrily frustrating) when it turned out the picture published wasn't one of the ones he had on his computer and was unrelated to what happened at all. That they had just grabbed her picture and published it, not caring how it might make her feel made me angry.

It seemed like when they were talking about the ministry teacher who was outed in the Ashley Madison leak that they were judging porn a little harshly. I seem to remember them blaming porn for porn addictions instead of people who get themselves addicted to porn. I can't remember if that was the one that struck me the most at the time, though, as it has been a hectic week since I listened at all seven episodes.

Finally got around to listening to Butterfly Effect last night, and it made me really angry at Fabian and his arrogance and inability to claim responsibility for his actions.

The stamp collector story was really fascinating.

Pornhub sucks!! Everyone should have to pay something to watch porn. Actors in this industry deserve to be paid for their work like anyone else.
