Banner problems in the chat

Seems to be a bit of inconsistency with the banners in the VNA Live chat. It works for some, but not for others. For instance, the Rubberdoll.net banner didn't work for anyone, yet the Puma Swede banner works for some. Not sure why that is.

From what I could see last week, some of the banners do not even show up. I just figured it was on my end.

I don't think I've ever had any of them work, either in Chrome or IE. Some folks say some work and some don't. Seems like I remember Vicky saying once that the entire banner has to be on the page (meaning the window couldn't be too big,) So I tried resizing my window down a notch. But nothing worked. I tell everyone to click the banner to visit the models site, but always wonder if it's working for them. I think I'll start asking people if it's working for them. If you have 40 people in a cam show and ask for help, usually 2 will answer you.

I dont understand this, because I always see the banners, 100% of the time, in all browsers, no matter what..... mind boggling....

I can always see them, it's just that sometimes they don't click. Like today, a couple went to the site, a couple didn't do anything. I need to keep a log for you. I'll do that.

If the banner is not clickable, it could be because you have part of the members cams box overlaying on top of the banner.... the banner has to be 100% viewable to be clickable... it's all in layers... once you move/expand the members cams over top of it, it's not the top layer anymore.... get what I mean?

Do this as a test for me. If a banner won't click for you, go to www.vettenationlive.com that model should be the first on the list, highlighted in orange, and say LIVE NOW. Click on her thumb there and see if it clicks through to her site. If it does click through, the problem is something with your browser window and a click on the reset icon at the top should fix it. If it doesn't click through to her site from there, it means I messed up something in her profile and I need to fix it.

I've tried everything, including making sure the members cam window is clear of the banner. Well, everything but what you suggested. I'll try that and let you know.

Sorry, a click on what reset icon? Something on my browser page? On the VNALive page? I can't find any Reset anything. I'm guessing you don't mean the reset (f5) function.

OK, [UPDATE] I think I figured out my problem. I keep my members cam window down near the bottom, as I'm not interested in looking at dicks, lol. If I moved it up above the banner, the clicking still wouldn't work.

I've found that the banner "area" is not just the banner itself. The banner "area" extends all the way from the left edge to the right edge, covering the entire width of the page.

I usually have my chat window on the far right, with the members list next to it. Both extend from top to bottom, yet to the side of the banner. However, they extend down into the Banner "area." (Screen Cap 1.) I discovered that, if I shorten both windows so they are above that "area," (screen cap 2) (or close them) then the Banner clicking will work.

So, Vicky, is there any way that you can shorten that banner "area" so that it just covers the banner itself? Or does it need to be the width of the page?

Moderators: If someone complains that the clicking won't work, tell them they need to shorten and/or move the camera, chat and member window all above that one inch area the banner occupies.

screencap 1 doesn't work because your member's cam area is partially on top of sarajay's banner. It has nothing to do with any of the other panels. That is the only one covering it. It covers her logo on her banner and goes right up to her top lip. It's kind of transparent but it's clearing on top of her banner. The other panels like the chat and memberlist are not covering her banner so it's not an issue.

do you remember in our old program before this one? you couldn't extend the other windows overtop of the banner and you guys asked me to change it in this version where you could, because you said you wanted that real estate available to play with? so I did it the way you asked for, but with the understanding that if you put something on top of the banner, it's not clickable anymore.

By "reset" icon i mean the orange button to the right of the key button. At the very top, it's the 5th icon from the left, after the vnalive logo.

No, Vicky. In Screencap 1, I moved the cam area up and tried it and it still didn't work. I should have moved it up for the screen cap, but I was more interested in showing the other two windows. In the second, I just clicked it off. I tried all this several times and this is the way it worked for me.

Check my caps below. It did not matter if the members cam window covered the banner or not. If either the chat window or members list was down in the bottom 1" of the screen, the banner would not click, even if the chat window was way over to the right (SC 1&2.) i.e., the chat window or the members list was covering the banner, given that the "Banner" extends from the left screen edge to the right screen edge, even tho you only see the center third. If the chat and cam windows were both above that 1", the banner would click, even with the members cam window covering half of it (SC 3&4.)

OK thanks for all that clarification... its not working exactly how I was expecting it to then.... at least now we know exactly what is happening.... let me check with our programmer and see if there is anything we can do about it.

The possibility I was suggesting was to make the Banner area only the width of the banner, leaving the area between the actual edge of the banner and the edge of the screen free for other windows (such as chat, etc.) No biggie, really. Now that I know, as well, how it works, I can always move the chat up if I want to click the banner. Or I can explain it to others.

But, yes, I tried it again yesterday, and the banner remained clickable with the members cam window over it. Just not the chat or members list.
