Joe Paterno is to be honored by a moment of silence before a Penn State ball game. Is this to represent his silence on the issue of child rape during his association with Jerry Sandusky? thoughts? :wtf:

Catalina2, excellent point. I feel that this man does not deserve to be honored in any way. His lack of honesty and integrity was disgusting.Maybe they can give him a "Moment of Silence" in Hell.

it is astonishing to me, Marge, that even after all of these years that "culture" in Happy Valley continues to be clueless re child rape. they continue to make excuses for Paterno and some, unbelievable as it is, are excusing Sandusky as well. that whole damned town knew or had heard the rumors of Sandusky's escapades with children. what did they do? they berated the children and marginalized them all to preserve the sanctity of football. I've played football and love the game. was even captain of the team. I have nothing against the game, only against the fanatics that bestow a god-like sanctity upon it. it's a GAME.

Couldn't be more in agreement with you. Amazing that some people have "Tunnel Vision" when it comes to this man. To think that any game, football or ANY other sport could be more important than the boys participating in it is truly obscene. So many good young men have suffered lasting damage because of Sandusky's actions and Paterno's "Sweep it Under the Rug" indifference toward them.

on the money, J.D. want to become even more furious? see the film "HAPPY VALLEY". it was, at one time, on Netflix and may still be there. it is a documentary of sorts that chronicles the outrageous actions of the Paterno family, the school administration and the town of Happy Valley where Penn State is located.
