I'm on tonight instead of Sunday because my brother that I haven't seen since 2003 will be here with his family to celebrate his 50th birthday with me! How weird is that! See you guys tonight at 7 ok?

I think he is Walt! His wife and 3 kids have all been staying with us and it went really well! Sitting talking to my brother is so surreal on one hand, but on the other hand it feels totally natural and comfortable, and strangely doesn't feel like there was a gap of 15 years missing. It's as if we have always been close. I can't explain it. He gave me a huge hug and said not talking to me was retarded on his part. He already asked if they can come for Christmas!

His kids had a great time too! The day they were leaving for their cruise, the little girl asked "Mommy do we have to go on the cruise? Can't we just stay here the whole time?" They loved playing in the yard with all 3 dogs, who really behaved well considering they are not used to 3 kids running around hooting and hollering, catching geckos was a big deal to them since they don't have those in canada.

They will be back again friday morning, and then we bring them to the airport to go home on saturday night.

Anyway back to the thread - my camshow will be sunday at 4 pm EDT!

Very cool, Vicky! I'm happy that you were able to re-openyour relationship with your brother.

My brother and sister and I aren't close, but the love is there. We'll goes years between talks, but whenever we see each other we're still family and talking is easy. One of the reasons I love living in the modern age is that it allows me to be closer to my daughter. Every now and again my daughter, her husband, and I happen to be playing the same online game and we'll jump into Discord (like Skype) together and talk the whole time we're playing together. It brings us closer so that when we see each other in person, once or twice a year, we're family.

As you guys know I postponed my sunday (yesterday) in favor of Tuesday (tomorrow) so I could give you guys a girl girl show with Ivy Secret! It will be at 5 pm.

As you may know our cam server has been having issues when too many people get on cam. (memory eaten up faster than usual) We finally figured out exactly what was causing it. Wowsa forced us to upgrade to the current version of it's software (or else they said they would not support it), so we did the upgrade and things got wonky. After lots and lots of testing and researching with Webair on the backend, they have discovered it's incompatible with the version of Linux we had. To make a long story short, we have been building a new cam server (with the latest and greatest version of everything) as of last week and I hope it will be live tomorrow. It will be seamless, no one has to do anything different. I'm not sure if it will be live in time for my show with Ivy though.

So just do me a favor, if it starts lagging, and you are on cam, then get off cam, so you are not using the resources.

I was scheduled to do a gg show with Sara Jay on friday night, but unfortunately (death in the family) I had to leave for the airport (to go to Canada) at 5 pm and our camshow was scheduled at 7. We had such busy schedules during xbiz that there was no other time we both were available and had a place with internet to do a show, so SJ had to do her show without me. I'll be home at about 2 am on tuesday though... After I get some sleep and get a little caught up on work I'll do a make up show! I missed you!

Sorry for your loss, Vicky. We are all aware that sometimes life gets in the way of camshows (based on the frequency of changes, I am guessing the admins are very keenly aware of this!). Some things are more important. Miss you too.

I was trying to get in an extra show tonight, i put it on the schedule this morning.... grrrr... this afternoon our internet got all wonky. We had to let our brand new employee who just started today, go home early because he couldn't work with no internet!

I called spectrum and they will have a tech out her tomorrow morning between 9 and 10 am. Just figures, the kind of day I have been having today! I'm so aggravated. I think I just need to eat some ice cream and have sex and forget about work for the rest of today!

this afternoon our internet got all wonky.

I was struggling with some IT issues myself earlier this week, trying to run several instances of a fairly bandwidth intensive Java application off my 3 home servers only to have them crash and lose connectivity periodically.

After about an hour of scrolling through logs, I had the bright idea of putting a small fan on the wireless router and cable modem. Had an old PC fan that I wired up with a spare USB cable and wouldn't you know it solved the problem.

Check it again just before showtime, just in case it's a temporary issue that clears up.

I've been testing it periodically, it's not getting any better. I tried to watch a bit of Maggie and a bit of Penny, but to me the audio/video was out of sync and made it unwatchable. Everyone else in the room said it was fine though. The last thing I wanna do on an already crappy day is have a bad show with restarts and lagging.

Yeah it might also explain why you're getting dropped mid-show occasionally. Most people (including myself) keep their home networking setups in confined spaces so they don't have to look at the constantly blinking LEDs. I have my router hidden in a cabinet where ventilation isn't exactly ideal. It's surprising they don't put cheap fans in these things to begin with. Hope it works for you.

Repairman was just here! He had to go inside the closet in the office and move all my little organizers, they are marked "bondage", "thongs", "crotchless" etc.... he just gave me a wink and carried on cheerfully... I'm back in business!

Oh get this George, he said the upload was getting lost because there was too much interference with other frequencies? He said radio stations, washer/dryers, microwaves, all sorts of things could make a wire lose the signal? I don't completely understand it, but he removed a bunch of cable from inside the wall that he said didn't need to be there and rerouted it? Strange how it just started happening the other day? But I'm thrilled to be back up to speed!
