As hard as they try to sell it, the idea that they're going to be replacing real people with super-realistic computer generated “actors” seems unlikely. The time and money spent story boarding, choreographing, animating and rendering something like that is considerably more than hiring real people. In addition to the visual, they'd still require sound engineers to mix together audio tracks to create an immersive experience. Are they going to start hiring Foley artists and spending time doing ADR looping? Maybe it's just me, but unless there is a huge demand, I don't see it really threatening to replace the real thing.

VR is kinda neat, I haven't tried one of the more expensive high-resolution units but the demos they were showing at AEE were interesting, albeit cumbersome.

Sometimes, I feel like all of the VR stuff gets kind of crazy sometimes too, but I like original scenes. I love seeing all sorts of angles, seeing the passion and hearing the moans...and that alone will make me excited! I don't need a certain camera angle or a certain view to make it look like that person is doing things to me through my phone or computer screen. I can picture that up in my head and then it all comes together. ;) And they don't really make VR's by girls for girls and I haven't even seen one by guys for a girl yet (not that I'm interested but still) so it just does nothing for me. Humans are unpredictable and that's part of the fun/frustration.
