Not sure if anyone here is aware and I wasn't going to post anything but I have officially passed the smell test of the United States and have become a United States Citizen. Yes... I did the civics test and interview and disclosed every bad thing I have ever done and am the proud part of the USA.
All joking aside, I am very proud to be a citizen. It's become popular to bash on the USA in recent years. Yes... it's got all kinds of problems. Healthcare, tax reform, racism, a wack political system and terribly infrastructure BUT.... it's also a place that most people (if they are being honest) would love to move to or spend some time in. It is still the land of the free. You can say just about anything. You can try just about any profession. You can work hard and do something with your life. Yes... there are lots and lots of issues which need a LOT of work but doesn't every single country in the world?
Thank you to the USA for accepting me...

Well, congratulations, Rokkerr. Before I was happy to know you, now I am proud to know you. It takes a lot of hard work to become a U.S. citizen, and you should be proud, as I'm sure you are. You will, of course, never give up your British heritage, but you are now an American.
And now you don't have to sweat the Border Patrol when you come thru El Paso for a great Texas steak dinner.

As usual, I'm a bit late in reading this.
Congrats and welcome home, Rokkerr....take it from someone who's been here all his life. The country rocks, even if its politicians sometimes really suck. The food's real nice too.

And don't forget the beer - really great craft breweries over there. And when I say beer I don't mean Coors or Budweiser - I mean BEER!Anthony_JK wrote:As usual, I'm a bit late in reading this.
