I never go to Facebook because they have deleted my account so many times I don't bother with it. (They don't delete the VV impersonators just me haha)
Anyway it seems to me Facebook is turning into big brother, making our decisions for us, on what we should see and read. They know ehat is good for us. It is a huge power, kids growing up nowadays with facebook are shaped by this. This generation can be molded into whatever mark Zuckerberg wants. Facebook has the ability to affect politics and policies with all their decisions.

Never have bothered with Facebook. Unless you are stalking someone else, I don't really see the point. Live in the real world and the people you want to know about the things you are doing or care about will get the message because they will be part of it!
Here was certainly a sin worth sinning and I applied myself with characteristic vigour to its practice

I am not a big Facebook fan but......I don't think that they are completely wrong in monitoring some things. There r too many kids that use Facebook so there r things they do not need to see! They can see enough on Twitter! I realize that we have certain unalienable rights but there is a limit to some of them. Facebook is not doing anything different than we do, especially on Twitter when we block a person who is offending us, although we r making our own decisions and not someone making them for us. So I think it is six one way and half a dozen the other!

Facebook is a genuine cesspool. Moderation is borderline incompetent---worse than Twitter. Plus you have to see your family's awful opinions, lol.

One good thing is that like anything else we do have the right to watch or not to watch! But who knows even that option can be taken away. It seems that we are being told what we can and cannot watch. These decisions seem to be getting less and less.

I use FB for keeping up with the friends I have all over. I haven't run into any real problems at all. If anyone gets to be too toxic, or their noise:signal ratio gets too high, I block or unfriend.

I made dozens and dozens of friends through several message boards in the first decade of this century and FB became a natural way for us all to keep in touch. Some of my friends are more political than others, but stuff I have no interest in is pretty easy to scroll past. I can safely say Facebook is a central part of my socialization and entertainment time each day.
