This may or may not be the place to put this but I believe in the power of prayer and right now this little girl needs your prayers. She took something (drugs) at school and OD'd.... was rushed to the hospital and so far that's all I know. She was fine on the bus ride home but then within minutes of getting home her brother called my son, frantic and begging him to get over there. Their mother works over an hour away.... my oldest has my car and it was just crazy.... this poor baby was foaming at the mouth, crying uncontrollably but unable to speak. They called the fire department and they called the ambulance ... I hate this, as I sat here unable to help I could hear the sirens in the distance as they went down the road..... Just please please pray for her. I HATE DRUGS!!!!!

It's hard to know what the Hell she got into. But right now, that's not important. What's important is that we pray for her. Prayers abound for her rapid recovery (and her realization that drugs are bad for her.)

Update~ It was NOT an OD!! She has meningitis and had went into seizure. When she got to the hospital her temp was 105... it is now down to 101. Her brother and the paramedics assumed it was drugs when still at the house. She s a sick little girl right now. Praying for a fast recovery.

Well, while not the best, that is still great news. That is how assumptions can bite us in the ass. Because EMTs are not doctors, they can only do the best they can based on what they see, while they hurry the victim to the proper medical care. Very glad to hear it was NOT drugs, altho, of course, meningitis is a terrible thing in it's own right.

Still sending prayers for the young lady.

I'm sending out some positive thoughts from Canada tonight for this young lady. This month (and this year) has been full of wayyy too much bad news. It's time for a good news story and a happy ending. Xoxoxox Emily

She is in my thoughts and prayers too Emily.
Meningitis can be a really cruel illness, but there are different types and the treatments are much, much better than they were even a couple of years ago.
It can mimic lottos other things, but once it is diagnosed it can be dealt with.
I hope she is well soon - the best present all of you can have thus year.

She is doing so much better now. She is actually home with her family now and resting. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes.

Now I need to get past this flu bug that has found me.... days before the Holiday. I hate being sick.

Im glad it wasnt an OD either, thats the only part of winter I hate. I caught a chest cold 2 weeks ago this was when we first starting getting the 20 & under temperatures not to mention going outside of work while sweating doesnt help. Hope you get plenty of rest Emily.

As I have starting posting again, I'll wish you all well in getting better!
Glad she is better Emily - the diagnosis is better than it being an OD. With an OD you always worry about it happening again, but what she had should be a one-off!
