Spams and scams

Since we're a big, happy family here, let's use this as a place to alert others about any potential scams or spams we run across. I'm thinking mostly things associated with the VNA but anything is welcome,

Yes, this is motivated by one I received from Twitter, purporting to be from Gabby Quinteros. It was a notification in my email and said "Hi" with a link to reply. First off, it was suspicious because I am friends with Gabby and it is totally out of character for her to write me and just say "Hi" with no other message. So I went straight to Twitter to investigate.

At Twitter, I went to my Direct Messages. There were none from Gabby. In your Direct messages box, there are two tabs, "Inbox" and "Requests." So, I clicked "Requests," and there it was, a request from "@GabbyQuinterosx." The "x" caught my eye, So I searched anew for Gabby Quinteros to see what would come up. Only 2 did so, @Gabby Quinteros and @QuinterosGabby. The second is an old one from 2 years ago. So, everything is pointing to a scam account for the email notification I got.

From there it was easy. I returned to the Direct Messages page and Blocked that account.

In todays world, folks, you HAVE to be suspicious. I have been receiving more spam emails than normal. Investigation revealed that I have been caught in two of several large data breaches. Around a month ago, my bank contacted me that my card was used to charge something at an online account, around $80. I told them it wasn't me, so they canceled the card and sent another.

In today's word, you MUST stay alert. If you have any contacts, any problems or questions, whatever. If it's related to spam or scams, post it here. You'll be helping yourself and all of your friends here.

That wasn't me... I can't believe how many fake accounts are out there.... wonder how many facebook vickyvettes there are...
omg today just by accident i searched pumaswede on facebook had to be at least 25 of them.

I find it fascinating that even when people know where the real accounts of porn women are, they still get catfished by the fakers.

It's not as if Vicky hasn't had @vickyvette around for, I don't know, the past 6 years with well over 800K followers, right?

Or, Puma's TL (@PumaSwede) is that hard to find, am I right?

Maybe there needs to be a @VetteTwitterArmy TL with all the official accounts listed so that people don't get fooled and taken by these fakers. Or...is there one already?

(OOPS...you were talking about Facebook, I just saw...not Twitter. Never mind...although why is it that Facebook is so anal about suspending and deleting real porn stars' accounts while allowing the fakes to thrive?)

Had a fake Sara Jay account follow me on Twitter this morning, blocked & report @SaraJay66217010

Got a DM request from @pumaswede5. I have asked Puma about it, but this is obviously a spam account, as Puma and I all ready follow each other. The message was generic, too. "Hello I saw your likes and comment on my page so I decided to open a chat with you"

Obvious spam. If you get a msg from "@pumaswede5," don't reply. Notice the "5" at the end. That's not Puma.

New scam account for Carmen popped up in my Twitter today, had to warn one of our members already. Please report @ClubCarmenXX (only two XX, Carmen is a XXX type of gal )

Just got a DM request from @BrettRossi14.

"Hello Walter, My name is Brett Rossi and I am a pornstar, Will you like to have me booked, Only 5 of my fans have access to home sex service monthly."

I don't know Brett Rossi and don't follow her. I doubt very seriously that Brett Rossi would be trolling me, especially for "home sex service monthly," LOL.

This looked suspicious from the start. It looks like the Real Brett Rossi's Twitter is @ImBrettRossi. If you get one of these, report it.

So people really respond to this crap? I guess my answer would be yes. Sure seems to be a lot of it going around lately.

I was very sad to hear that a website member of mine was following the wrong account and got into a dispute with the faker... so glad he emailed me though... imagine his surprise when I told him I hadn't even been on twitter yet today and had no idea what he was talking about!

Today Ms Anna Bell Peaks asked me to follow her on Twitter. I said Wow! How could I be so Lucky? Ms. Peaks has such an angelic smile (along with many other wonderful blessings). Then I said Wait! I'm not the usual lucky guy. I better check this out before I accept such a gracious invite. Sure enough Ms. Anna Bells original Twitter name has 2 xx's on the end and this fake has xxx's on it and the connection to Ms. Peaks personal website doesn't connect. So watch out, Pass it on if you know Ms. Anna Bell and thanx - This is just an FYI.
