Brand New VNA Live 3.0

We have been working on the 3rd iteration of our VNA Live software!

A little history... the year we started it, we leased software from a company in Singapore and hired them to customize it for us. It was really great, worked well and we all loved it, except the problem was it was not mobile friendly at all. Phones and tablets started to get more and more prevalant and they kept promising and we kept paying for the development of a mobile version, but after some time it was fruitless, throwing good money after bad, so we gave up waiting and hired a programmer from Vancouver to build us a brand new system from the ground up. We figured it was better to "own" the software and have it on our own server rather than being totally dependent on the company in Singapore, so we could be in control.

VNA Live 2.0 Desktop version is great, (mobile version was passable, with limitations, but really ok for a first try at it - it works!) but the whole system is totally dependent on flash, and as you all know the browsers are quickly phasing flash out. (just as a point of reference, I did a show on CamSoda and the models still have to log in with flash, the members don't though, there is a superfast behind the scenes converter that is re-encoding the flash video to mp4 video before it sends it out to the members. Very similar to what our mobile version is currently doing. We still have desktop users watch with flash though.

I know I have been saying for a long time the new system is very nearly ready, and I felt like I should explain what's going on. Each week we test and test and find things not perfect. Like 2 weeks ago, we realized there were instances where one model could start a stream and interrupt a show that was in progress, thereby bumping the original model off.

So we fixed that, and now we realize, that if the power or internet goes out while a model is streaming, the server will continue to stream out a black video. The streaming doesn't stop until someone physically sends a command to the server to stop streaming. (ie the model needs to click the red "stop" button". So that is what we are fixing right now. That should be fixed mid week.

Hopefully I won't find any more bugs! Will keep you up to date.
