Well, I lose more people or people I try to be friends with. I pushed too much and just being awkward all my life. I deeply cared about the person but it just caused things to go sour. I will probably never go to any conventions again. so that person will not have to worry about me showing up anywhere. I'm sad but I will move on.

Yeah me too Walt, my heart was broken then that didn't one didn't work out. This time I kept trying to talk to tell myself oh I only like them because of reasons or oh you just like them for the lust/sex part, then more I got to know them I started to develop feelings, it's hard for me to express them because I didn't want to get hurt, plus my grandparents didn't believe in expressing feelings so I wouldn't. But in the end, my heart still got broken.

And I've always supported the belief that if someone decided they don't like me, it's their problem, not mine. Personalities rather easily tend to clash. So, I just figure that, this one didn't work out, they lose, I'm moving on to greener pastures. I love life and I absolutely refuse to let that or anything else get me down. I"m a good person (not perfect) and I generally treat people right. When I fail, I usually realize it and try to make amends. I think the Golden Rule still applies, for everyone:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

So sorry about that Andrew. I agree with Walt. It's their loss. There are a lot of people who don't like me and I can't let it get me down. They have their own reasons I suppose and it's not really my business!

Have you heard this quote before? What others think of me is none of my business.

If you really think about it, wanting everyone to like you is being a bit of a control freak. I can't control how others feel or think about me. The sooner I realize that, the sooner I stop stressing over it.

Also when you care too much about what others think about you, you are giving your power away. Giving it to them. This will cause you to do things, say things that are not really you. You will be "not authentic". Be yourself, you are wonderful, seriously, if they don't see it, it's their loss. Concentrate on the people who do like you. They are smarter anyways! Wink wink!

If you only live your life to be accepted by everyone else, you'll never be truly accepted. Just be you, and to hell with the haters. They will find a way to hate, anyway.

brilliant advice Vicky! Andrew listen to Vicky! This is the best advice I've ever heard on the subject.

As you know Andrew, a lot of people don't like me. I am totally okay with it. I always held to the standard, I'm a strong cup of coffee. I agree with Vicky that that getting upset, is giving a lot of power. It reminds me of the saying, "don't let someone live rent free in your head. Evict them." I get it loss always stings.

I agree with Walt, often when someone doesn't like you. It says more about them. People have the freedom and to not like me. While it stings since we all want to be liked. Everyone likes approval. It can cause a lot of anxiety too. I think it's a great time to just accept yourself.

I know friendships can be hard. But I would take now to develop friendships with other people.

Well after some talking back and forth, back in May I noticed was unblocked on social media. I was still reluctant to follow the person. wrote a letter and discussed my feelings and things. Me and that person are on better terms now.
