The weekend has come and gone

The main event was an unplanned entry into a lake, subsequent to an impromptu performance of the splits between pontoon boat and dock! The lakes up north are not as warm as one would wish. I can think of warmer plunges I'd prefer to participate in, (~grin).

I was too busy falling into the lake to take pics. And no else did either. Actually, its a good thing I left my phone and car keys behind, and was wearing a waterproof sports watch!! Premonition of things to come? Defitely was nothing like cumming!!

Another weekend approaching. Summer solstice tomorrow - 5k run. Its a staggered start time with the idea that everyone should reach the finish line as close to sunset as possible. Should be a lot of fun.

Yay! Love 5k's! Let us know how you do! Is it flat or hilly? How hot is it there? Humid? The humidity sucks the life out of me when I'm running! When it's drier - cooler I can run twice as far!

Perfect evening for a run. 22 C, light wind, no humidity. Its the first full 5k I've done since a cardiac procedure last November.

5 mile kilt run in August. Its mandatory to be wearing a kilt to participate in the run!!

Omg such drop dead gorgeous pictures! Are those from your phone? You had the perfect night for it! Isn't that sooo good for the soul? Just imagining running in 22C, no humidity and nice breeze makes me feel good!

So I'm afraid to ask? What do you wear under the kilt?

My phone is a blackberry; they've always had very poor cameras. And in any case, I hate to carry anything when I run. I don't even take a water bottle. I cadged the pictures off another runner in the group with me.

It was a perfect evening for a run!

Ans: Shoes and socks!

Seriously, though. chafing is a real concern when running 5 miles in a kilt. Protection is essential

Oh nice!! it reminded me of Maine scenery, well I guess were in pretty much the same geographic location being why.. beautiful shots!!

So much of Canada is gorgeous... Rokkerr has never spent any time in Canada.... we keep on talking about taking a trip up there... now that my brother is speaking to me again.... lol... and my Mom is alone.... maybe we'll do a little tour...

I've never been anywhere in New England (except for a few hours once at Boston airport), but from all the pictures I've seen, its quite lovely.

5 mile kilt run yesterday. The pictures are of runners being piped to the starting point. I arrived late, so missed the haggis tossing contest.

It was warmish, and extremely humid so not the greatest weather. But still these kilt runs are the most fun of any that I participated in.
