Is Dr.Dave ok?

All I can say (all I know) is that he might be there until later this week. The words he used were "out for awhile." I think Zany knows more. Something to do with his feet.

I think he's had the problem with his feet before, we talked one day in chat about hospital stays.

DrDave tripped and hurt his knee and it looked like he would be out for maybe a couple of weeks. Well now the surgeons are going to remove his right foot which he has had problems with. I heard from him today that on Monday they r cutting off his leg half way between his knee and ankle. Please say some prayers for him.
I only get one sentence at a time. So when I hear something I will let u know.

I Wish him well what ever problem is and quick recovery ,cause hospitals are no place to recover unless you like bland food and nurses bothering you every 15 min -haha

Okay! Heard from DrDave this evening! He texted "Hi survived"! So now we know he survived the surgery! Again I will let u know what I hear when I hear it!!

Do you know what led up to him losing his foot Zany? I think I heard him mention that he has diabetes before or am I mixed up? I don't mean to pry. Maybe he will fill us in on the details when he's back and the Forum, which I hope will be soon...

assuming that is what happened don't know. But that's the biggest thing you have to worry about having diabetes is your limbs and other things that's why you have to or hope to keep it under control with medicines and diet etc. just speaking as a diabetic myself and always on top of infections etc.

Well I got another text from DrDave but it was so late and I was tired last nite. This is what he said: "Only to develop an infection at the cut line an eagle eyed nurse called an old doc and one I trust too. Means more surgery but still".

Now I am stuck with the "but still"! So I know he is in the hospital and considering he asked how I was, leaves me to believe he is in good spirits. Yes is diabetic! He has had problems with his right foot before with infections since I have known him. I figure the foot must have looked pretty bad when he went in for the knee.

I told him everyone says hi, that we are saying prayers and sending positive vibes. I let u know when I get another text. Thanks everyone.

What was wrong with the foot and the part of his leg for them to cut it, I don't know yet. But at around 6:28pm eastern, DrDave left me a voice message saying he was getting ready to go have the corrective surgery done. He would be out for about 2 days!! He sounded good other than being drugged!! So again when I hear something I will let u know what's going on! Just keep the prayers and positive vibes going.

Today is DrDave's birthday. I would imagine he may not feel like celebrating. But, given what he is going thru, I would say that this is absolutely the time to celebrate a birthday. It means, very simply that you're still here. and that's always a great reason to celebrate.

So, , DrDave. You may not feel like celebrating at the moment, But know that everyone is celebrating with and for you. Keep the faith, DrDave.
