Last week the company I work for (Parker Hannifin) banned all non-essential business travel. Today, five more cases were confirmed in my county. All are employees of a company called BioGen and went to a conference in Boston two weeks ago (that conference has now been tied to 24 cases of coronavirus). NC Governor declared a state of emergency so that federal funds can be asked for to help cope with expenses related to coronavirus.

Hell yes! Its a very big thing here! At my university (around 14,000 students, teachers and workers) they are discussing it all day long. We are expecting for the first hit every moment.

I think healthy people don't have to care so much, but for people who are stricken with plagues like lung diseases (Asthma or similar...) or have a damaged immune system, it could be a death sentens! In France they strictly forbid to visit people in retirement- and nursing homes, as they are the most endangered minority. All schools are closed... not yet in Germany, even though we German's are always (or still?) suffering from the German-Angst-Symptom (it means that we are always afraid about the end of the world (by any reason)...lol).

Not as usual, this time, we handle it with No Panic, but with our eyes wide open... common sense is requested. The pity is that most of the people around me are acting stupid...ugh!.... they have no clue what it means to live under quarantine > don't use public transportation, don't go to the hair stylist, not even go to a doctor! Call him and you'll get a 7 day sick note automatically...etc...etc... You should do nothing that gets you in touch with other poeple!
