Booster is worth getting, John. Unlike the original two shots, there were no delays or lines when I scheduled and got my boosters in November and a couple weeks ago. Worth it not just for yourself, but to protect the others in your life, too.

Someone called me up and wanted to come visit me to catch up in the week - not a particularly close friend or anything, just someone I used to work with, not that that's relevant at all - and they were pausing to cough and occasionally sneeze while talking on the phone, so I said don't come over if you're sick. They replied that they had tested themselves and "it's okay, it's not Covid" to which I had to respond as delicately as I could that covid or not, if you're feeling sick you don't go and spread whatever bugs or viruses you do have to other people. I don't want those either!

Too true Stevie. Working in retail it is amazing how many people come in the store sick and dont care who they infect. People go around sneezing and coughing without even covering their mouths. Just spraying germs all over the place. Or parents whose children are too sick to go to school but they will drag the kids to the store because they want to go shopping rather than stay home with their sick child.

Absolutely. I am in retail too and when we were "proofing" the shop and putting up screens around the counter... THAT made it even more obvious what you'd normally be subjected to. That screen, after only a short while, would be filthy with little bits of spittle or whatever and it was just a realisation that under normal circumstances, you'd just be getting that on yourself with the screen not there! Yucky.

I know! I saw that at the nail salons and other places! Who would have thunk you would be subjected to all that on a daily basis! No wonder the flu and everything spreads so fast!

Yeah, I've seen people talking and not understanding the micro-droplets thing. The best explanation I've heard is to remember if you've ever been outside on a day that was so cold you could see your breath. What you're seeing is all the micro-droplets you exhale crystallizing when they hit the cold air. Those clouds are always there every time you breathe out, you just don't see them when the temperature is above freezing. Visualizing the clouds people are breathing out makes it much easier to keep a six-foot (two meter) personal distance when I am out in public.

That's a perfect explanation! As an aside, have you ever seen someone fart outside in the cold!?You know you can see it right? Lol....

We had a guy in Navy bootcamp who would climb into his bunk at night and light his farts. I stood back and watched one time. After that, I just went somewhere else. Yes, laughing and SMH, lol.

But all of the above is true. If you see someone who doesn't even cover their mouth when they cough/sneeze, you want to avoid those at all costs. They are not bad people, they just haven't learned good habits. And, in todays world, almost none of us carry a handkerchief or Kleenex. So, if we cover our mouth with our hands (like I do), you now have those germs all over your hands. Then you wipe your hands on your pants (which does NOT clean your hands.) Then you go shake hands with someone. Or maybe you take money out of your wallet and handle it before handing it to a cashier, who handles it while putting it into the drawer. Then she hands you change which has been handled by how many people? This is why we now cough into our elbows. No one is shaking our elbows,

I read somewhere that well over 50% of paper money is covered with cocaine residue. Let's face it. We are filthy people with filthy habits. Thanks primarily to the pandemic, I now carry a package of wipes in my car and I still have some liquid disinfectant. Whenever I get back in my car, I wipe my hands. If I sneeze or whatever, I carry a handkerchief that I use.

I think we all could do better. Think about it, folks. Remember when restaurants with salad bars started putting up sneeze shields? They came to realize that people were sneezing right over the food - totally clueless to what they were contaminating everyone else's food with.

We all could do better. So think about it, folks. Read the stories above and resolve to do a little better. Guys, there is no embarrassment to carrying a handkerchief. I bought 12 and now carry a fresh one every time I go somewhere. And, ladies? You all carry purses. Put a small package of Kleenex in there. If it's a really small purse, pull out a few sheets and put them in a small zip lock. You can get snack sized bags that are about 3" x 3". They work great.

Let's all think about this, folks. We can all do a little better at protecting not only ourselves, but others as well. Let's do this.

OK, I try to be serious, but still gotta close with a joke, lol.

A Sailor walks into the bathroom at the airport. There is a marine standing there doing his business. The Sailor steps up to a urinal and does his thing. the Marine finishes up, zips up and heads for the door.

The Sailor notices and yells after the Marine. "In the Navy, they teach us to wash our hands after we piss."

The Marine responds, "In the Marines, they teach us to not piss on our hands!"

OK, one more: Regarding Vicky's comment about farting in the cold. (I live in West Texas. I've never seen that, lol.)

Some of us horndogs prefer nylons (that's one for each leg.) But others are perfectly happy with panty hose. But how do you tell when a female is wearing panty hose?

When she farts, her ankles swell up. :lmao:

Just now noticing this: "... have us or arm!" ---> speech to text? If so, I imagine word emphasis tells the software whether it needs an exclamation point or a period. Still, pretty good!

Yup! Speech to text strikes again! That was supposed to be, "I didn't know a single person who didn't have a sore arm."

I just got the newest booster the other day. My arm was sore and that night had all the symptoms of COVID. Chills. Sweats. Body aches. Breathing issues.

Next day I was normal again but had zero sleep that night my body was in so much pain.

Hopefully I won't get COVID like I did after the other shots and boosters.
...and she said " Let's go for it, the rooms already paid for!"

Sorry to hear that Uncle Dave! Hope you can get a nap in!

My doctor told me not to get any more boosters. I've had 2 bosters so a total of 4 shots.
