Big changes at Pornhub

Amazing what happens when Visa and MC threaten to take away their services.
If this had happened a few years ago so many companies and sites would not have gone bankrupt. That was their gameplan all along, force everyone else out of business by stealing everything, then go legit.


Most notable among many massive changes:

1. Verified Uploaders Only
Effective immediately, only content partners and people within the Model Program will be able to upload content to Pornhub. In the new year, we will implement a verification process so that any user can upload content upon successful completion of identification protocol.

2. Banning Downloads
Effective immediately, we have removed the ability for users to download content from Pornhub, with the exception of paid downloads within the verified Model Program. In tandem with our fingerprinting technology, this will mitigate the ability for content already removed from the platform to be able to return.

14 years too late since Pornhub put out of business probably 60% of legit producers by allowing rampant unpaid content to be uploaded... and downloaded BUT..

reading more into that it is for the time being temporary until both companies complete the investigations, there is a possibility that the new rules satisfy both companies but it may not. Biggest thing said by APAG is to remain calm for now.

So there were 3 million legit videos uploaded by the owners/studios/models etc... and 11 million that were stolen. Great stats guys. Yeah really something to be proud of. You are a hero after taking them down after 10 years of destroying everyone else's business. Yes you turned moral and ethical overnight. It's just a coincidence that you did it 2 days after losing your mastercard and visa. Yes I know you only did it because you care about the models.....

Porn actor, producer admit sex trafficking charges tied to San Diego website
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A porn actor and producer who worked for the defunct San Diego-based website GirlsDoPorn pleaded guilty Thursday to federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges.

Ruben Andre Garcia, 31, was one of six people charged with filming pornographic scenes that prosecutors allege involved coercing and defrauding scores of young women over the course of several years.

The website and its operators were also sued by 22 women who alleged they were told their videos would only be distributed to private customers, rather than proliferated online. A judge awarded the women nearly $13 million earlier this year, a few months after federal prosecutors filed charges.

Garcia is the first defendant to plead guilty in the case. He admitted charges of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, and sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion.

“This defendant was a key player in a despicable fraud that has devastated the victims,” U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer said.

Garcia is slated to be sentenced in San Diego federal court on March 5, with another hearing slated next month for the remaining defendants. The site’s creator, New Zealand native Michael James Pratt, remains at large, with a reward of up to $10,000 available for information leading to his arrest.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and testimony from the civil trial held last year, the women were flown to San Diego from across the United States and Canada to film scenes for the site, which advertised that its content featured women outside of the porn industry.

Some of the women testified in the civil trial that they responded to advertisements posted under the guise of modeling gigs, which included no mention of nudity, pornography or the GirlsDoPorn business name.

Other women hired as “reference models” spoke to uneasy victims over the phone and claimed they had been featured in prior videos without issue, falsely assuring victims that their videos would not end up on the internet, according to prosecutors.

Garcia’s plea included admissions to recruiting and paying the reference women, who received a fixed fee for every woman they attempted to recruit, and additional compensation for any who agreed to film scenes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

If the women ever changed their minds about filming or completing the scenes, the defendants threatened to sue them, cancel their flights home or post footage that had already been filmed online, though the intention was always to upload the videos onto the internet, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Other victims were physically prevented from leaving the San Diego hotel rooms or short-term rental units where the scenes were filmed, often with defendants barricading the doors with cameras or recording equipment, prosecutors said.

Once the women discovered their videos were posted online, the website owners ignored requests to take the videos down and cut contact with the women altogether, according to testimony.

In addition to the civil trial held in San Diego Superior Court, another lawsuit was filed Tuesday on behalf of 40 women against Pornhub’s parent company, Montreal-based MindGeek, for hosting GirlsDoPorn’s videos. That lawsuit alleges MindGeek hosted the videos on Pornhub and its other pornographic websites despite being aware of the sex trafficking allegations.

This has been my point all along.... Mindgeek made a killing off these poor girls, while their lives were being destroyed, their traffic kept going up and up because of the publicity in the court case. Now twitter saying PH are porn heroes, champions of free speech and sex workers rights and we all have to support them? People in the industry speaking on behalf of Pornhub saying we all need to band together to support them because they support women? WTF? The irony of it all is so unbelievably sad? These girls out there tweeting on behalf of Pornhub are the few golden ones that PH has chosen to make $$. They pay them very well to speak for them. The average girl does not make much from pornhub per month. Especially considering that it has destroyed the subscription paysite model. Pornhub has all but obliterated our industry and now we are protecting them? Why does the world not make any sense? What is wrong with everyone? How can it be so twisted?

Vicky, it is the same as the political upheavals of the past few months. People more concerned with their own misguided thinking (or lack thereof) than truth, honesty and concern for others. Today's youth is "all about me," and how much money I can steal from as many as I can. Very popular are TV shows that are based on paying a prize to whosoever can lie, cheat, backstab and steal the best.

I grew up in a simpler time. Back then we cared about each other. We helped each other. I know those things, those people are still out there, but the media doesn't care about that. The media feels that supporting all of that garbage is a fast track to getting rich. To Hell with morals, values and truth. And, as you see, those pathetic values have permeated every aspect of life. People watch that garbage (sorry if you like those programs, folks, but they're garbage) and learn that this is the way to get thru life.

There are a lot of sleazy, misguided, ignorant people out there, in every aspect of life. And it will be with us as long as the media continues to glorify such boorish behavior.

Keep in mind, If you like those shows, I am NOT calling you boorish or anything else. I am talking about those programs (and porn sites and whatever.) If you should like those programs, you go right on ahead watching them. If you watch them and laugh, and then go live your life as a good and decent person, then good for you. And, thank you for caring for others. And, that's my opinion.

Even before this came out, I would disgusted at lot of industry people giving them a free pass, like because they donated to some the adult oriented charities etc. and the people who would go to the awards show they started I was like they not only do what they've been doing but they are stealing yours and others content(allowing it to be posted). Saw one adult industry union really get behind them(not a good look at all).

The thing is that the newer girls don't know or understand anything about the stealing. The new girls don't even have websites anymore... they just do the clip sites and onlyfans... so it never affected them... it was before their time.... and they don't have sites to steal from...

Overall, Pornhub has hurt more models than it has helped.

Everyone in the end, took the attitude, (including us, reluctantly) IF YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM, JOIN THEM. So everyone is uploading to their own channels. If you don't do it yourself, it will just be stolen anyway and then you make nothing.

But the rates are ridiculous. Each time someone views your video you make .0006 dollars. ie it takes 100,000 views to make $60/it takes 10,000 people to watch your video for you just to make $6. So why wouldn't i upload that clip on onlyfans or clips4sale or manyvids instead and make $6 for one view? The stupid thing is, if you upload it to PH, and then try to sell it on your onlyfans, they will search for it first on PH, then tell you, oh thanks for bringing that video to my attention, I wasn't aware of it. I just found it on PH and watched it for free. I love you! You made me cum! Thank you! Wow! Thanks I just earned .0006 from you! That is not even half a penny.... So by uploading your stuff there you are making it worthless. Why are we defending them?

Possibly Visa processing is back. Nutaku.net (Mindgeek's gaming site) just announced that Visa processing has started up again. Mastercard was monitoring all of this and hasn't taken any further action.

The girls at ManyVids have been complaining about Pornhub about users for years. One lady I know issued seventeen c & d letters in a day. Good to see them finally not allowing it.

It's like a ghost town over there. Anybody who is not verified there as a content owner, pornstar, or adult model has had all of their pictures that they uploaded removed. Even their profile pictures were taken down too. [And there are thousands of unverified members.] They also removed the drop down box for pictures. Just videos are allowed now from verified content owners, pornstars, and adult models. Though, I really feel horrible for the honest Pornhub members / users there. Some of them have spent years putting up photo galleries of their favorite ladies. But then again those Pornhub members /users didn't own those pictures. They were either just members or ex-members of websites.
