That looks interesting. I think it's really interesting that they've made a whole story line to go along with the on-line game. But, to wait a year is a long time, lol.

Unfortunately that's the Limited Run Games way... they make nice physical editions of games only available originally as downloads, and they only make a couple of thousand of each (hence their company name) - so you have to get in quick when they go on presale because they can go very fast, but then you are doing all this before they've even entered production - which is why it takes it's time!

More and more games are going digital download only. I so much prefer having a physical copy of the games. I could understand if they charged less for the digital only copy as there are no extra production, packaging or shipping costs, but they charge exactly the same. Games, music and movies are going more and more digital and less physical copies
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

As a collector I do prefer physical copies as well - and in actual fact getting physical copies can be cheaper than buying them digitally anyways! I am the same with movies as well because the way licensing works with those streaming services you don't know how long a movie is going to be available for on which platform - if at all!

Speaking of movies, I must have a good 200 videos. I see a movie I like and think, "Oh, I've got to get this one, so I can watch it whenever I want." I've watched most all of them once. But that's all. I will take a few with me when I go to visit my son in Arizona, But most of them are just sitting there, lol.

It just hit me. If each DVD was $10.00, that's $2,000.00. Just sitting there on my shelf. :lmao:

Good job you've realised that in the expensive hobbies thread! Hehe! I used to be so into collecting DVDs... I would buy films I hadn't actually seen - that would be my first viewing of them! Then when blu ray come out I was buying my favourites over again! It is one of the things I really have cut down on, although I still upgrade to 4K if it's a particular favourite. I've still got VHS tapes lol

The only real issue I have with getting things via Limited Run games is you pre-order them before it's even manufactured... so I bought this set last Summer and received it this month! Sometimes I forget what I ordered... which makes a nice surprise when it turns up a year later!

The nice game box made me think of a couple of very talented artists (in Norway, I believe) who make really cool gaming-related art pieces. If you want to increase the amount of money your hobby is consuming, take a look at their stuff. They made a fishtank-sized fantasy scene out of a huge amount of epoxy.

Yet another "hobby" I forgot about. The thing I like about physical DVDs and BluRays is the extras. Watching the episodes of Futurama with the commentary turned on is great! That's why I really appreciate shows that put commentaries on every episode. Often the voice actors are as entertaining as their characters. I don't like the streaming services' business model, so I don't participate. But, I have heard that viewers don't get access to the commentary tracks, "making of" features, etc. That's another reason for me not to participate.

Those videos were really cool, ErikB - thanks for sharing! There are some really talented people out there who create some wonderful things inspired by video games, or movies/tv. Etsy has quite a lot of people selling things like that, and eBay too. I saw a really great custom action figure of Jesse from the video game Control someone had made but it was $300 - which was too steep for me, for something that was unofficial. No matter how good it was. But considering I have spent almost that much on the game itself... I own it 4 times! Haha! Twice on Playstation, twice on Xbox. But then it is my favourite game...

With the DVD/Blu Ray collecting - I worry that the streaming services will lessen the quantity of physical releases we will get as time goes on. I recently got the 4K special edition of True Romance and when it arrived I realised that the last several movies I bought physically were all special releases and that perhaps that's how a lot of it will go. I was relieved to see that Disney still release their movies physically, despite films like Cruella and Black Widow being available on Disney+. My shelf of Disney and Marvel movies would look odd if there were gaps!

I just found them recently. I don't subscribe to anything because I refuse to have to get a gmail account. I just have a lot of websites organized into various bookmark lists. They are under "crafts". When I want to see what is going on in that category, I select "open all in tabs", and let the browser do the work. Then I check each tab to see if it has anything new.

Same here. Also, with the favorites that I currently own, I worry about the continuing decrease in quality and availability of the stand-alone and portable players. I dread the day when Techmoan reviews the old CD/DVD/BluRay players. Techmoan is a technology reviewer in England. While the majority of his stuff seems to be obscure audio and video formats from various countries, he has also covered nixie clock kits and other fun gizmos. He also has reviewed some strange kitchen gadgets. At the end of some of his videos he also used to have skits using two or three muppets that he created. They started out being sarcastic comments on some of the stupid or abusive comments he would get in his YouTube comments. The young male muppet represents that stereotype. The female muppet (wife or girlfriend, I think) is the voice of reason. And the older male muppet represents a different voice of wisdom. He stopped putting the puppet skits at the end of the videos because YouTube decided they would attract kids and demonetized his videos.

His YouTube page is:
https://www.youtube.com/c/Techmoan/videos

My favorite puppet sketch, because of both Zac Gobshite's time machine web page and the comment on the reason the older puppet runs Linux:

The whole 44-minute long video about minidisk. Most of his videos are not this long.

I've been banned from YouTube, thanks to Vicky :rotffl:

About 4 years ago (3 or 4m Vicky?) I made a clip utilizing various Vicky pictures played to "L.A. Woman. She commented at the time, "I'd better download it before YouTube shuts you down." Well, guess what? It finally happened, THREE FRIGGIN YEARS later (or 4 or whatever, lol) They have not only banned me meaning I can't ever sign up for another account. Well, I coud, but I'm not interested. I can still go in there and watch/download as a "guest," lol. So, screw you, Youtube.

What I don't get is those (I think there were two) were marked "Private, meaning supposedly that they wouldn't even show up in searches and were only available to anyone who had the link.

Now, I do know that they made some recent classification changes, and that may be what got me. I'll have to look that up.

"Age Restricted" is another category that I see some videos marked with. I can't see them because I refuse to have an account. Perhaps YouTube wants you to mark your videos with that label. Do you have a copy that you can post here?

It's already here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. They may have changed Private to Age-restricted or something, I can't remember. It is mostly just 'bathing suit stuff, with a couple of tit-shots thrown in. I mean, name me ONE kid who hasn't seen female breasts, lol.

Do close-ups count? Probably not, since most people can't remember back that far ....

The other thing that has me at it's mercy is kitchenware...yea I said it. I love cooking crap! Pots, pans, knives,bakeware...you name it.

If I walk into a Bed Bath and Beyond you can guarantee that I'm coming out of that store with something under my arm.
