I finally got around to reading the article. You could hope that she would go into teaching Continuing Education. I took several of those when I was in college because it was the only way to fit all my courses into my schedule. Don't remember where I heard it but I'm guessing I heard getting whacked in Central Texas in the early/mid '50's. It meant getting whipped or spanked, I believe. I seem to remember whacking off from the early '60's. I always assumed it somehow came from the earlier.
