But Christmas I guess has now come to a close... I was at work today, but only until 3pm as it's a bank holiday here in the UK and it was very very quiet. So I have spent my time since getting home outside up a ladder taking down all the Christmas lights I had up outside! I could have left them up another couple of days I suppose but I noticed that everyone else in the street has taken theirs down now!
Christmas has now come to a close. And the g/f's 2022 birthday has also now come and gone. Its 1 pm here and I just got back from the cottage to start my work day!

Tsuro is one of my all-time favorites! It is so easy to learn (and teach to others) and always fun to play. It doesn't take long to play, even with a large number of players. It is another of those gateway games to turn people who haven't played any of the newer (since the turn of the century) board games into 'let's play some more' gamers.

For anyone who hasn't played any board games released in the last 20-25 years, there was a revolution (ongoing) which has made games more fun than ever. There are even heavy math Game Theory courses (and perhaps even majors) in colleges which people have used to help create fun games (Magic The Gathering was created by a mathematician and is still going strong almost 30 years later). Whether you like simple and elegant games like Ticket to Ride or Tsuro, party games like Cards Against Humanity or Werewolf, or strategy and 'Euro' games (too many to name), there are all kinds of exciting, fun games out there today.

Placing cards to complete paths could be any number of games. My first guess would be Carcassonne.
Upwords is like scrabble, but less demanding. You stack tiles to change words already on the board, (hence the name).

The other game I was thinking of is Tsuro. I like it because there is a big element of skill. And it is for 2 - 8 players, so good for when there is a crowd.
