2021 keeps on sucking right up to the last day of the year… today we lost our honorary VNA girl Betty White. She really was the coolest.

I was sad to hear the news today, but also happy looking back at all of the amazing work and laughs that she provided millions of people through an 80 year career....amazing!!

A little while ago I ran across some episodes of "Password" that she was on. This is the first episode after she and the host, Allen Ludden, got back from their honeymoon:

She's the only person I've ever written a fan-letter to, about 15 years ago. I wrote how much I loved the Golden Girls and why and added a picture of the dogs me and my girlfriend had at the time. She sent me two autographed pictures, one with a little note written in black ink (sadly the ink faded over the years), that meant a lot to me.
And she sent the money back that I added for postage.
She was such a trailblazer for women and everything she did for the Civil rights movement and the LGBT community over the years is just remarkable.
The Golden Girls is my favorite show of all time, but Hot in Cleveland was awesome too. I also love the way she interacted with the audience.

I saw the news break last night while I was on Twitter and I was gutted... just days away from celebrating her 100th birthday. So very sad.

I was at work when I read the news it and just made me sad. I was so hoping she would make it to 100. Just about everyone at work was talking about it and some of the people who werent even born when Golden Girls came out were upset. Just shows how far her reach went.

To die less than three weeks before your 100th birthday, right when People (and other) magazines were putting out issues celebrating your birthday, is either sadly ironic, or great comedic timing. I think the first thing I saw her in was the Mary Tyler Moore show every week and, like the entire cast, she was awesome.

Betty White was with us as long as TV has been with us. I remember seeing her a long time ago, with her husband Allen Ludden on What's My Line and other early black and white TV programs. (Didn't know TV used to be black and white, didja? :lmao;)

The Mary Tyler Moore show was where I first saw her also. She truly was one of the timeless few.

I was so hurt when I saw the news that Betty White had passed. She was looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday. To have known a lady who lived to be 114, I totally think everyone should celebrate those who turn 100 or older no matter where they are.

I was thinking about when I 1st saw Betty and like Walt I remember seeing her on a black and white TV! I don't remember if it was What's My Line or Password. I just thought she funny. There are some funny scenes that just make you laugh so hard till you cry cause of Betty. Her humor will be missed but so glad we can continue to watch it.

Autopsy results state that Betty died from a stroke she had 6 days earlier. So if you've been reading that her death was caused by a co-vid booster she got 3 days earlier, forget it.
