A MILF IN ITALY....

Well, obviously the site is in Italian, but it says that there's been an accident and that a 50 year old woman who's originally from the area (so she probably knew the path) fell several meters, which caused severe injuries and that they brought her to the hospital.

Did you see the first pic from our group that I posted? Look how close he is to the edge! One more step backwards or just loose rocks giving way under his feet and that could have been him. Why do we all think we are invincible?

Another site says that they had to help another woman who hurt her ankle a couple of hours later and carry her up the path. It's amazing what they do.
I noticed that the guy in the pictures is standing very close to the edge. I assumed he was the guide?
Well, fortunately neither you nor rokkerr injured yourselves and from what it looks like in the pictures, had a great vacation. Have a good last evening in Rome and a safe trip back. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us!

No that's what I'm saying. The guy in the pic is with his girlfriend. They were taking their instagram pics! Our guide never went that close to the edge!

He was awesome too! He pointed out all the different vegetation that was edible! Wild thyme, rosemary, some kind of wild onions, mint grows there like crazy we were picking it and tasting everything.. duh me I picked some on my own, that looked just like the mint, turns out it was stinging nettle and I rubbed in in my hands to smell it before I realized what it was and got stung with all the toxic hairs... its nasty stuff, my left hand burned a bit and has now been numb for hours... apparently it gives off formic acid which is the same as ant bites.... like I said, duh me!

I guess 500 year old buildings don't have elevators? lol... oops.... We were on the 3rd floor of an adorable old building. The doors are about a foot shorter than Rokkerr, so he always had to stoop to enter. He had to carry our 50# bags up 3 flights of these. Kinda narrow too....

I did some shopping here too, so had to buy another bag to go home! Damn women! We keep the economy going though! I'm doing my part!

I was going to ask whether that guy was a guide or something. I wouldn't even go on a hike like this given my problem with heights.

Did your guide give you any info on the buildings? The picture with the overconfident tourist in it seems to have a tower in the background that at least looks like it is accessible from the top. The building with what I presume are goats on it looks more precarious. Is it maybe an observation post? And did it start off better positioned and the cliff eroded back to the base of the wall?

The other building may have been for humans in the past but for now the farmers let the goats use it. The goats are roaming all over... they have cowbell and ear tags. They go home once a day to be milked and fed but they have babies and the babies stay in all the caves.

What a spectacular color of water. It's beautiful.

I wonder if people who live there appreciate the beauty of the area or are they just used to it since they see it everyday?

I must have focused in on the picture. I totally missed that you had replied to my questions!

I saw the squared-off tops of the buildings and must have subconsciously joined them with the part of the cliff that stuck out. Dang forced perspective!
