What do you think about these driver less cars?
This is kinda funny....
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/co ... 87b87eed9e

But soon there will be driverless cars for Uber and drones delivering for dominoes pizza and Amazon. Not sure I want to see our skies littered that.

It would be kind of cool to just stay at the beach after our Saturday morning workout and have a drone drop us off cold drinks and snacks haha..... but no that's the height of laziness!

It is early days yet. These things will improve over time and hopefully not be introduced before they are ready. Given the aging population and general incompetence of people, they could be better drivers than many.

I do like the idea of 'lane assist' technology that can make a ping if it detects you leaving your lane.

No thank you. Takes the randomness and fun out life. In events like being hot and thirsty on a beach, I tend to find some gem when searching for places to get shade and a drink. Such as a great little burger place or a cool little shop. If my drinks were delivered by drone, I would miss that. I love those little things in life. Same with the driverless cars. I like the idea of driving as being my time of peace. Take a little trip when no one can bother me for a bit because I am driving. I am in the moment focused on the drive. If I where to have a driverless car, I would be doing other tasks likely working as I ride. I will admit, I loved when planes didn't have wifi. I loved having that escape for a few hours on a plane just to look out a window and read a book. We are getting less and less of those moments as tech takes over a bit.

It's the little things. Same reason I make my own bread and ice cream. Plus, nothing beats the flavor of homemade bread and ice cream made with real cream. The real deal has no gums and weird additives. It's flour, water, yeast, sugar and salt for bread. The ice cream is milk, sugar, egg, cream, salt and whatever fruit, chocolate or vanilla you want to add. I want to invent a word strictly for the things that are real, authentic, pleasurable and simple. haha...

Thanks to today's cars and all of their "convenient" features we no longer need to pay attention when driving. The car will brake for us, keep us in the lane and even parallel park for us. I don't call that convenience. Driverless cars? Seriously?

They scare me. And what are you going to do while driving down the highway on a 400 mile trip with your hands in your lap and nothing to do? Believe me, you will be bored silly after the first 20 miles.People will bring books or something to read, a tablet to play games or something to occupy their time, not playing any attention to their surroundings until it's too late. There are way too many dangerous situations out there for me to trust a machine to weave through everything safely.

People already are seen sleeping while in "auto pilot" in Tesla's here in the States. I'm sure a whole lot of other things go on as well, sex, reading, watching of phone. I'm surprised there are not more accidents.

I may have said earlier that I do believe that someday, most if not all cars will be driverless. You will program in an address (like I do my GPS now) and sit back and relax. I also believe that flying cars (ala The Jetsons) will be a reality some day. But we are not even close to there today. Not hold drivers responsible? Major insanity. Maybe someday, but, again, we're not there yet. In today's world, a driver still needs to be held liable for what he is doing in his vehicle.

"Eventually, self-driving technology could "improve road safety across Britain by reducing human error, which is a contributory factor in 88% of all recorded road collisions,"" True statement. But we have to move slowly.
