Eh, unless they know me, I could be from from the bureau that tests stores for compliance, and they could be in danger of losing their liquor license. Yes policies are stupid but sometimes government agencies are stupid and petty, so I can see why those policies are there.

Yes, there are inspectors that go around checking. They hire underage kids, take them to stores and have them try to buy alcohol. If he can, the agent goes in and does his thing.

Problem is the clerks that don't check. Sometimes they just believe the person is old enough, maybe they've faced angry customers who've ranted at the policy. So they tend to let it slide. 7-11 and maybe others instituted a "check everyone regardless" policy instead of teaching their employees how to do the job. I would assume that clerks that don't do their job would be fired. And owners/managers should make it clear how to handle it. Teach them that someone who walks in, white hair, wrinkled skin is over 21.

Great policy. Piss off the public instead of teaching your employees how to do their jobs.
