I don't think we should advertise porn sites at sports events where kids are, but he totally has a point! Twitter has tons of porn, so why it is ok for twitter to sponsor athletes and events? Assuming that they do? Do you know of any events they sponsor?

I haven't noticed any Twitter sponsorships. But that doesn't mean they aren't out there.

This is pretty much like everything in our lives. Some people say something is great and others think it is horrible. So, instead of just letting everyone do their own thing, one group always wants to control the other. I mean, it goes beyond just voicing an opinion. Folks want to eliminate "the other side" so that their world is the only world.

Both Twitter and OF have what is considered porn and SFW. A problem I see is that the two aren't separated. So, someone (a teenager, for example) can follow someone safe. But, once you're signed up, you have access to everything. There is no separator. I seem to remember sites trying that before, but it didn't work. Can't swear to that. You know an old farts memory, lol.

I'm sure we all agree that pornography be kept away from children. So, how do we do that, while allowing them access to those "dual" platforms?

In my personal opinion, and this goes against what everyone in porn says.... I wish twitter would be like instagram and not allow nudity.

In theory anyways, because instagram doesn't allow nudity for porn people, regular models in mainstream can show boobs anytime they like. And rock stars can show their penises full on frontal.

What i'm saying is I wish twitter and instagram would both be the way that instagram says they are.

I tend to agree. But I think a site should be either a porn site or no porn allowed. That is not hard to do. You could have Twitter and Adult Twitter. A company can easily support two totally separate platforms. Many people (meaning companies or whatever,) do that. There's nothing wrong with trying to earn revenue. But, If they would just keep the two separate, there would BE no issue.

Except trying to define what constitutes porn. I'm sure you've heard of cases where people searching for information on breast cancer get blocked because of the word breast...

Well, I didn't say it would be easy, lol. You are right. These dang automatic checkers (whatever you call 'em,) are good, but they can't define context. So they just block everything.

But the people owning the sites know what porn is and what they are hosting. That is where the responsibility lies.

As far as I know, I haven't seen any OF-sponsored sporting events; nor have I seen any sports celebs open up OF pages.

In a way, it's like Playboy or Penthouse putting their brand on such things as racing cars or perfumes or other such merchandise: people know that the brand represents something more adult-oriented that underage kids should not freely access. Although, it is kind of hard for adolescents to completely avoid stumbling onto adult-oriented sexual expression these days.

There needs to be an accessible (if paywalled) yet protected space for adult-oriented consensual sexual expression, and right now, there isn't because our culture and our laws are way too Puritanical and tight when it comes to sexuality. I do think that if there are more explicit adult sites to access that do protect intellectual property rights and wall off underage kids, then it would be more feasible to transfer the more explicit stuff away from more open-access social media sites. Until we get to that point, however, there is far too much discrimination against adult social media and sex performers/porn content creators, and way too much overall censorship, to be calling for removing porn off of Twitter. As of right now, it's the only game in town, even with its restrictions, where peeps can access consensual explicit sexuality....at least until Muskrat decides to drop the hammer.
