Last week Monday, after my 5k run I stopped off at a grocery store to pick up a few items. When I got back to my car with a bag of groceries, there was a paper flapping on the windscreen under the wiper blade. Alex had banged my car and damaged the front bumper.

In the dark, I would never have noticed, but yes, there was the damage. Even if I'd noticed, there is no way I could have known who hit my car.

Alex had included his phone number on the note. After ringing, and texting, I provided 2 estimates for the cost of repairs. Alex accepted the lower offer (naturally; any the difference is prices was minor), sent the money by e-transfer the next day and now the matter is closed.

Pity there are not more people around like Alex. Nice to know there still are some people like Alex.

I love to hear stuff like this.

It's too bad that stories like this seem hard to find sometimes.

God Bless Alex, whoever you are....you're a good man.

Nothing like honesty. I've found a couple scrapes on my car with no one in sight. Same thing, parking lot dings.

I like to park way out there now. The exercise I get walking from the car to the store and back is good for me (and for my car, lol.) In fact, how many times have I pulled into a busy parking lot and watched people either circling or sitting in the aisle waiting for someone to pull out. I go straight to the fringes of the lot, get out, then walk past those folks still sitting there or circling, waiting for a spot right by the door.

Bye, bye, y'all.

I have to agree with you walt. I usually park at least half way down the aisle or more. I once came out of the bank and the side of my car had a gash running almost the whole way front to back. A woman told me she gashed it pulling out of the space next to mine. I dont know if she waited for me to come out or if I just came out before she could leave so she fessed up. I like to give her the benefit of the doubt though.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

One place I used to work, one of the employees had a (somewhat) fancy car. She normally came to work early, and she would park close to the entrance, but diagonally across 2 spaces so no could park near her.

There were times when I wanted to hit her car just for the selfishness!

That's good when someone is honest enough to admit what they did wrong! Hard to find those people now days. Especially people who hit your car when you are not around.

I despise people who do that.

No, you don't get two spaces. Park correctly or park in a less-used area.

I want to say I blocked someone like that in once (was in a dense area) or maybe that was just my "I should block the so-and-so" moment, lol.
