So this summer is sure a hot one. Yesterday is 83*c as you Americans measure it
And until now & for years even I have had big dark curly hair but this morning I made a decision to get it all cut off. Well grade two. It is a true change for me. Let’s see what are doing and especially if you are going with a new do? Length? Colour? Upstairs or downstairs hair, your choice

You probably didn't mean 83*c, as that's 181*F. 83*F, however, is 28.33*C.

And since the Covid plandemic, I trim my own hair. No big changes or stylings, just keep it shortish and manageable.

I've posted a couple of old avatars before, I'll see what I can find. I kind of doubt that I'll ever do it again, lol.
OK, boyze and gurlz, Walt's story hour (less, I hope, lol.)

I first grew mine, I believe, in about '67 or 8. This was in Texas, during "The Red-Neck Years," lol. I was a qualified turret-lathe operator. Was 25 in '68. Knew everything there was to know. Or just didn't care, lol. They came to me after a few weeks and said, "You gotta cut it off." I said, "No I don't, either." You know who won, lol. I know for sure that I had it after a short time in Alaska. I've only cut it off about 4 times, I think. Last time was about '92. I was working on that Magellan project I talk about.. Well, one day, I made the decision to cut it off. I knew I'd grow it back, but, well, I wanted to see what the hell was under there, lol.

I wanted maximum shock value, so I waited until my next haircut. I wanted to look shaggy on the day before. That night, off she came. Next morning, I did a final trim/clean-up, and off I went to work. We worked behind closed door, so I decided to knock. Betsy Marlowe answered the door. I'm not any good at voice mimicking, but I tried.

"Does Walt Brown work here?"
"Um, yes, he does."
"Would you tell him that a friend is here to see him?"
"Um, sure. Just a minute." She turned and let the door go. Just before it closed, she grabbed it.
"Come on in. I'll just take you to his desk."
"Sure, OK."

As we walked, I could tell she was thinking. I forget how I responded, but it went something like this;
"Have you worked with Walt before?"
"Yeah, we worked on a project together."
"Have you known him long?" (I swear, I could see the steam coming out her ears, she was thinking so hard, lol.)

Suddenly she stopped. She turned sharply, lifted her arm and pointed her finger, "You ARE Walt!!!!"
I don't think I laughed so hard in my life. We both did. By then, we were in the control room, where everyone thought we had gone over the edge, lol. As the joke spread around the room (I heard it several rimes,) "That's WALT?"

A couple days in, I was walking from our main bldg to another. One of our guys was walking up. It was a bit of an incline, so he was walking with his head down. As he moved to one side, I moved in the same direction. He moved the other way, and I did, too. I did this 3 or 4 times before he looked up with that "OK, Asshole, which way you going now?" look on his face. So I said, "You don't say hi to friends anymore?"
"Walt?"
"Yes."
"Really?" When I laughed, he did, too, lol.

It was a fun day. Actually. a few days. People were coming up days later, commenting or just shaking their heads, :lmao:

After reading about how much fun Walt has had changing his appearance, I realized that I hadn't mentioned that I was talking about my head hair. I am clean-shaven, and have been my entire life. Originally it was just a preference, but now there is an additional disincentive to growing a moustache. Many years ago I noticed a streak of white (or clear, perhaps) in the stubble on a lazy weekend. I think if I were to grow a moustache I would look like Doctor Forrester from MST3K:

My head hair is still fully dark brown, though. At a Sci-Fi convention, Trace Beaulieu was asked about the Doctor's white streak, and he claimed it was the result of a lightning strike. He also said that it continued lower but they never got to use it in a storyline. Or something like that. I don't think the actor actually has the streak. While looking for pictures, I found in-character photos without the streak and in-character photos where the moustache-streak is in a different location. But I do have the streak, at least in my moustache. It isn't the result of a lightning strike, although when I was in high school I did enjoy testing my ability to take jolts from the Van de Graaff generator.

Well, my trick was a little different:

I never had the guts to try a light socket, although I now recall a childhood incident where my hand got burned. I hadn't learned the rule about pulling cords by their plugs and not by the wire, and had eventually worn down the cord on the lights for the iguana cage.

My high-school physics teacher told us a story about another student who had high enough skin resistance that he could stick his finger in a light socket without being bothered by it.

i don't think I'm interested enough in my skin resistance to find out what it is, lol.

I was thinking that I had posted pics of MY last haircut. But I think I just posted them on FB.
.
When you wake up looking like this:
Walt 1.jpg
.
And combing it doesn't help a lot.
Walt 2.jpg
.
So you reluctantly decide to get a haircut.
Walt 5.jpg
.
I trim my own beard.
Walt 6.jpg
.
One final clean-up.

Dang it, Vicky, NOW can I have a date??? :rotffl:
(Sorry, Rokkerr, :lmao:.)

Vicky, your bangs look fabulous. But, then, is there anything you don't look fabulous doing?

No bangs and I don't look like a Star Wars character, but a couple of weeks ago, I was fed up with my hair and cut it using a Youtube Tutorial. The moment I cut it in front of the mirror, I thought "This was a huuuuge mistake" lol, but it turned out pretty good. Dyed it today to cover the grey hair. Looks a lot better and I feel better.
Having too much sex can cause memory loss. I read that on page 69 in a medical journal on the 4th of May in 2008.

Awww would love to see it! I cut my own bangs sometimes.... It's crazy how fast they grow. Especially when I remember to take my vitamins, it's very noticeable.

Is Rokker dispensing those vitamins? I have heard that those vitamins were good for your hair.
