Its a good thing the police force in Britain is centralized, or else you'd have a Bath Police and Reading Police. After that, Sandwich Police (which they would also have), does not seem too bad.

Reading police we may be getting anyway. And I take showers. I don't know whether the Bath Police would cite me for that, or give me an attaboy for saving water.

My sauce was ok, made it with fake meat (pea protein crumbles) honestly wouldn't have know the difference from hamburger meat, but that pasta was like cardboard. Never again!
The nightmare returns:

I knew we had this somewhere!! Actually the spaghetti was not as bad as the elbow macaroni - definitely less cardboardy.

But this red lentil pasta was much better:

We had both with this basil pesto, which was quite yummy:

Just add a couple of spoonsful of the pesto right from the fridge over the hot pasta.

Remember what I said about Massachusetts. Also, got any fava beans and a nice Chianti?

Depending on the server, I might eat one.

Octopus and squid is fantastic. Only seafood I haven't liked was Sea Urchin. It was like chewy wet cardboard.

I like Calamari. I guess I could look up what it is. I think it's some sort of octopus type animal, lol. Calamari is round, so that makes me think "octopus legs." There was a place in LA down the street from the convention center (which is next to Staples Center, lol,) named Kennedy's. Some of us stopped in there once after an Adultcon day. I loved their Calamari, to the point that I wanted to go back. Never made it, but I still like calamari (pretty chewy, lol.)

OK, I looked. Calamari is made from squid, not octopus. And, yes, there's a difference, lol.

Sounds like that chick pea pasta Vicky didn't like (and neither did I).

I've never had either octopus or squid. Sounds like I should give them a try.

This is interesting because the study was conducted with identical twins, which effectively controls a lot of the genetic variations.

Good read!

Has anyone seen the documentary called "Gamechanger"? It's on Netflix, I believe it was produced by Arnold Schwarzenegger? Mindblowing!

At some point you have to stop following others and do what your body says. (I said stop following, not stop listening; it never hurts to listen).

From personal experience, I know that if I try and follow a prescribed regime, I end up feeling run down and dissatisfied. If I follow my body, while taking into account the advice of others, I seem to do OK.

I AM trying to keep eating a little better. Certainly not to the level of the great meals that Vicky fixes. In fact, I don't really cook anymore. I mean, yeah, I might broil a steak and nuke a baked potato. Maybe add a little corn-on-the-cob (Love corn on the cob.) Maybe even Ranch-Style Beans, flavored with garlic, chili powder and diced onion. That's my Sunday NFL meal (NASCAR starting in Feb, lol.)

Or maybe burn something in the frying pan. I'll make mac and cheese once in a while, for example. mix in pinto beans or even broccoli or tomatoes. One dish meals. But nothing complicated, like 2 things, LOL. Well, except for that Sunday meal. I likes my Sunday sports dinners, lol.

I had no idea how bad the fish farms are. The fish are very diseased and swimming in their own poop. For example the water quality is so bad all around the fish farms that when schools of free salmon swim around them they die in masses.

I thought I was helping by buying the farm raised salmon vs wild caught because the wild caught is destroying our oceans leaving them barren from over fishing. There are species going extinct.

They call it fishing, but it's not fishing like we think of lines with hooks. It's massive nets spread out like blankets and when they pull them in it's indiscriminate. It's full of sealife that they are not fishing for. It all dies unnecessarily. Sea turtles, dolphins, small whales, just everything killed because they got caught in the nets.

So we switched to farm raised. But it's not healthy. Apparently the salmon is 30% fat because of the feed. The nice pink or red color is not natural it's from chemicals that have been proven to cause health issues in humans.

Wtf are we doing? If we keep eating the way we are eating we will need 3 planets to sustain it. Something has to change.

Watch this mini series on Netflix and let me know what you think afterwards? I think it's 4 episodes.

I knew that SOME fish farming was really bad. I think I'd heard that shrimp farms in Thailand are particularly unsanitary.

Its not that we can't sustainably produce enough to feed the planet. The problem is the need to overproduce so much that people can buy it on a whim and throw it away.

And access to ethically produced food carries such a high premium because the supply chains are clogged with mass produced garbage.
