Wow how impressive! What a beautiful song! So how do we buy it? How do we donate?

fascinating subject. My son-in-law's father is retired now, but he used to consult with different governments on how to create fisheries. That is why my SiL was born in Jordan and raised in Cameroon. I used to see his dad every year at Thanksgiving but my SiL's mom and dad moved back to Oregon, so I won't get a chance to ask him about this anytime soon.

Vegan diet is good. I have shifted to vegan diet a few months ago. I made regular use of whey protein supplements based on animal products after hitting the gym. It goes down hard on the body and it is not recommended for a continuous use for years unless we include some special on support cycle supplements that would compensate for upset stomach.

I eventually shifted to 100% vegan protein supplements since past 4 months. I consume milk, yogurt, eggs, cheese in moderation.

I suggest not to overdo eating food. But eating in moderation a few times a day is healthy.

Not to mention I love veg salads!
Love Cucumber!! <3 yumm

Not giving up feeding up myself with chocolates here everyday lol

Actually, that looks more like marshmallows and whipped cream... lol. Looks yummy.... but I wouldn't have it, the whipped cream is probably redi whip from a spray can and who knows how they even make marshmallows!? Omg I just googled this! Not for me!

"traditional marshmallow might contain about 60% corn syrup, 30% sugar, and 1–2% gelatin. A combination of different sugars is used to control the solubility of the solution. The corn syrup/sugar ratio will influence the texture by slowing crystallization of the sucrose."

And then this about the Redi whip.
You mean the ‘ nitrous oxide-propelled, sweetened whipped cream produced by ConAgra Foods ‘? This is a direct quote from their site… If you are looking for healthy options this is NOT the product for you. My suggestion? Go wild. Get a small container of 35% cream. Give it a whip. Add some honey if that is your thing and enjoy. Forgo the can. Bad for the envoirnment both in the packaging and production. Whip it up. :)

Oh yeah... just surfed about it too on the google. It contains some unhealthy ingredients, not good for us vegans lol

Almost forgot about honey lol
I'd certainly prefer honey over hot chocolate plus it makes me feel sexy in mouth.

How about trying something new? Honey + whipped cream between a two bread sandwich??

Watch this mini series on Netflix and let me know what you think afterwards? I think it's 4 episodes.
I've seen 2 episodes so far, and I think it is a great show. A real eye opener, and it is going to make me think about significant changes to my diet. I've recommended the series to a couple of friends.

If McKenzie Scott (ex Mrs. Bezos) could be persuaded to run some prime time ads showing clips of CAFO (continuous animal feed operations), I think it could make a real difference over time.

That is just heartbreaking watching those CAFO's and fish farms. 95% of all meat we can buy in the stores comes from there.

I honestly have nothing against eating meat per se, and fish. But in the old ways, from farms, where animals were treated humanely and killed humanly and didn't suffer and weren't pumped full of antibiotics, and hormones. Over the years it has turned into a nightmare, for everyone! The animals, the farmers, the people eating it. We are getting sicker all the time.

When I had cancer back in 2008, my oncologist told me that 80% of all the cancers that humanity is facing right now are man-made, and we are creating new cancers every year because of what we are doing to our food and our environment. He was not vegetarian but he would not eat any meat bought in the store. He used to go hunting twice a year up in the woods in ontario, and him and his buddies would kill a couple of moose or deer and cut up all the meat and freeze it and share it between them and that's all they would have for the entire year. He bought eggs, milk, fruit and vegetables only from farmers markets and it was organic.

He was an amazing person, really dedicated to helping cancer patients, he used to be a bone marrow donor himself as many times a year as he was allowed. I should have listened to him back then!

I knew about industrialized farming in an intellectual way, but had no idea how brutal it actually is.

I can source meat and eggs from local farms that are sustainably operated. Fresh produce is more challenging in Canadian winters. I will have to start looking up more recipes involving beans and lentils. The show was a real eye opener, thanks for the recommendation.

On another note, I did not realize you too are a cancer survivor. It is a scary diagnosis to receive, and yes, I can well believe that we are creating new cancers in order to fuel our need for instant gratification in excess.

The banquet eatables that can keep both vegetarians and non vegetarians happy.. without them giving a thought of food difference on the same table.. is by including some extra common stuff that both can have together. This should still keep them in begging competition on the table lol

In a way, a party with a bunch of fruits right on the table and...that includes fruit salad, fruit custard, fruit shakes, milkshakes with some bananas and strawberries with honey dips. Optional nuts availability in limited quantity would be not bad at all lol

I'm glad you like it! It was just a lark. I thought of the tag line, and decided to make it. Let me know if you want any size or timing changes, or if you want me to include the other doggy.

I'm not saying that Vicky misses meat. But, I caught this picture of Vicky eating with a Texan. Can't tell if she's thinking, "Dang, I sure miss meat," or "What the hell's WRONG with this guy?"

OK, this isn't vegetarian, it's something I posted on my Facebook this morning. If Vicky wants me to put it on a new, non-veggie topic, I'll be glad to. It's long (you know me, they call me the yakker.)

Good Monday morning. Let's start the day off on a good note and bitch about food, lol.

I like maybe 3 cooking slows on the food network. I currently like Ree Drummond - The Pioneer Woman. Then there's Molly Yeh - Girl Meets Farm. I also like "The Kitchen." This one is 5 folks who all fix up their favorite dishes. There have been others over the years that are gone now. All good food.

Then there are the competition shows. I don't watch those. But, peeking in on occasion I see two things I just don't understand.

First is towering hamburgers. How the devil do you even TRY to eat one of those monstrosities? You've seen them. Some whiz kid will stack up a burger that's a foot tall. I'm sorry, I won't even try to eat that. My mouth, despite what you may think, is NOT a foot wide. Sometimes the host (Guy Fieri is one) will come over. The first thing he does, while bragging about how wonderful this burger is, is to put his hand on top and squish it down so he can fit it into his big mouth, lol. Or maybe you just nibble your way up the side. You know, bite of the bun first. Next, try the lettuce and tomato layer. Next nibble on up to whatever mess you got piled up there. Do any of you make something like that at home? How the dickens do you eat it? I'm sure it's a good burger. I'd just tear it down and eat it with a knife and fork (I'm no fun at dinnertime, lol.)

Next, how about an egg on your burger? I don't want one, but I do like eggs, even good egg and bacon sandwiches. I just don't want one on my burger. I'm betting it's still good, lol. Ree Drummond makes one called "Egg in the Hole." She just (I think) toasts her bread, maybe not. You could go either way. Then she cuts a large hole in the center (cookie cutter.) Toast goes into the frying pan. Then she breaks an egg into the center and fries it up. Egg in the Hole, lol. I don't really get it. I just put my egg on top of the whole toast slice, cut it up and eat it. But egg-in-the-hole is cute. I may try that. This morning sounds like a good time. Maybe I'll toast one slice and leave the other fresh.

But that's not the bitch. The bitch is when the those 'chefs' build a hamburger, then fry up an egg for it. But they don't break the yolk. So, what's up with THAT? I can make a mess all by myself thankyewvurrymuch. One thing I don't want is to bite into a burger and have egg yolk dripping down my beard and getting all dried up there, lol. ("Hey, Walt! What's all that yellow decoration in your beard," lol.) Molly made one this morning. It was about 6" tall (including the egg, lol.) So she picks it up. First thing she does is squish it down. Then the yolk pops and all this yellow comes running out and running down the side. If she'd have just bit into it, she'd have had yellow running down her pretty chin, LOL.

So, eat oatmeal. It's good for you and doesn't drip down your chin and you don't even need hands. Well, one to hold the spoon would be nice.

This is the juice of life!
I made up a big batch of it last night, it is an entire package of Ginger root, an entire package of turmeric root, a couple of oranges off my tree half a pineapple, a whole lemon, a bunch of apples, and some cayenne pepper. Mix it all up, and it's got some bite to it! Half a glass a day, and It will reduce inflammation in all your bones and joints, as far as I'm concerned it's a miracle cure better than any pills you can take!

Yikes! That sounds like it would have some bite to it. I think I would have to start small and see how well I can handle it.
