After a hot of hoopla... Threads is not exactly kicking ass... the Twitter aka X alternative...
Are any of you using it?

I haven't even looked into it. But then, I don't surf a lot of media stuff. Mostly Tweeter and my FB feed.

No Twitter/X, no Threads, no Facebook, no WhatsApp, no Facetime, no Instagram, no TikTok, no OnlyFans. If I missed anything, the answer is probably no.

But I do have a VNA account...

I moved from Twitter/X to Blue Sky. I still check on Twitter/X now and again, but Blue Sky is my future.

I just never got into social media. Had a facebook account for a little while but never really did anything with it. Dont think I have logged on in over a year. Never did twitter or instagram or any of those. Just not my thing I guess.

We grabbed an account just so I would have my name, but haven't done a lot with it. It's just not possible to manage that many social media accounts unless you are paying staff to post for you.

There are too many, I don't know others that are migrating to other platforms. Maybe their popularity will grow but for now I'll stick with the 656632135432165432135649003 ones I have lol

Big issues with Threads is that they aren't really doing much to tackle hate speech and intimidation/harassment online, deciding to rely more on their AI scraping to monitor and "regulate" speech". Also, since you have to already have a Facebook membership to use Threads, and if you decide you want to bail out, you have to give up your Facebook membership as well, it's a bridge too far for a lot of folks who would otherwise have long since abandoned Da X.

I have a Bluesky account along with my hosted Mastodon instance, and it's not really half bad. Heck, they even let you, provided that you mark your page as sensitive and make some adjustments in what you can see and what is hidden, upload eXXXplicit pics, though you can't yet upload clips or gifs and there's still no direct encrypted messages.

Well that seals that one. What a stupid idea, try to hold your customers hostage under the threat of disowning them altogether.
