Did you guys hear this? I read it somewhere I can't remember where now but he justified it by saying that if there was a fee to join Twitter even if it was a small fee, there would be no Bots? Do you believe this? Would you still join Twitter if you had to pay? I think at least 50% of people would not?

I get tweets liked and followed by a ton of bots. If it’s a small fee and it eliminates bots, I’d consider it

He would lose so much business; if he's actually trying to kill Twitter/X this would be a great way to do it.

As I said elsewhere, I am moving away from Twitter to BlueSky. Took a while because BlueSky currently requires an invite code to join. It looks like I receive one invite code for friends per week. Like Threads, Bluesky is a Twitter/X alternative. It was created by one of the creators of Twitter and unlike Twitter/X it isn't run by an idiot.

I'm not convinced paying would prevent bots but they are getting worse! I'd pay a little fee to see what improves then decide from there.

I doubt that a fee - small or large - will eliminate bots.

If advertising income is a function of number of users, and there are a large number of bots that get eliminated, then number of users goes down and advertising revenue goes down.
