HA HA HA HA! See what I did there? Oh man, I know you've missed this lol
Are you sure you didn't mean to say "Uranus eclipse my face"?
Either works for me!

Are you an amateur ass-tronomer? Do you have a telescope for examining heavenly bodies?

I caught the tail end of the side swipe of it on Saturday.

It's really something to step outside at 11:30 in the morning with not a cloud in the sky, and it looking so dim like somebody dropped some really dark shades in front of you. I did the "punch a hole in a piece of cardboard" thing and caught the crescent just in time before it headed out. It's gonna be fun next year when the next solar eclipse passes even closer to where I am.

Gotta wonder....how much in royalties did Bonnie Tyler's estate make on Saturday when the radio stations were blasting all versions of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"?

Anthony, are you saying Bonnie has passed? Usually (to me) when you're talking about someone's estate, it's because they've passed. Of course, you can also live in an Estate. According to my search, she is still very much alive.

And I'll bet she lives in a Bonnie estate.

Never. But I remember a lad from Thailand (English was not his first language) who tried to decipher the lyrics (remember, this was in the days before ARPANet, never mind internet). A few gems he came up with:

See the tears shining in my eyes became See the deer standing in my eye (from Please Mr. Postman)

and

She's a must to avoid became She's a muscular boy (from the Herman's Hermits song).

I watched the 2017 total eclipse from a rest area on I-40 in Tennessee. During the eclipse, the automatic street lights turned on. Before and after the totality, the leaves on the trees acted like lenses to show the eclipse in the shadows on the ground.

I may even head out some weekend soon just to look over the expected coverage area. Not that I expect crowds, I'd mainly just want to look over the countryside to find the best the place to stop. Some areas out here can be very UNconducive to stopping. And I don't want to be looking for a spot as it's happening, lol.

One of my favorite mis heard lyrics was from Creedence Clearwater Revival's Bad Moon Rising. The line is There's a bad moon on the rise, but A Lot of people seem to have heard There's a bathroom on the right. LOL
John Fogerty thought it was so funny that he sometimes sang that line in concert lol
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)
