Just look at all these? And not even one of them is me? I hate this!

It's so unfair that they show all the imposters in search, and don't show the real account? How is any fan supposed to find me?

My real account is www.tiktok.com/@vickyvette

It would be wonderful, if anyone has any time, to report all the fakers?

Wow! But what is the point of all these fake accounts? Does anyone make money off them?

How would they know? They have my picture for the profile they copy the exact wording of my profile on Instagram and twitter, and then they steal all my content. With the exception of the one that says I'm 30 years old and the one that says I'm looking for a man, they wouldn't know. Especially the sneaky ones that say this is my backup account.

What is the point of them? If you follow them and start dming privately they will ask for money, and say that I am desperately trying to get out of the industry, and that I'm very unhappy but I'm trapped and I need their help. There is a sucker born everyday.

I figured there was a money/sucker angle somewhere. I may work in IT but I'm a bit naive when it comes to social media.

I just did a quick look up of some app users by country: facebook, youtube, x, instagram, whatsapp, tiktok.

X and tiktok were the only ones where the US had the largest number of users (India was #1 for the others).

I'm wondering what would happen if countries start banning foreign social media services in the name of security. Heterogeneity and managed protocols for transborder data sharing - may actually not be a bad thing.

The underlying apps are not hard to build and deploy. The ones that catch on are the ones that attract a critical mass of users early in the technology life cycle.

Now if this could be applied also to online shopping....
