As you know, the U.S. and a number of other countries have adopted new start and end dates for daylight savings time. In the US, DST started last Sunday, March 11 and will run through the first Sunday in November. Microsoft has released a patch for Windows to account for the new DST policy so if you haven't applied the latest patches, you should do so. Apple has also released a software update for the Macintosh platforms. For those of you running Linux, please check your distribution's web site for further information.

The PHP software which runs this message board has not yet been updated for the DST problem so even if you have correctly set the timezone in your profile, the times will probably be off by an hour. Please be patient, the board software will be updated when released.

Well that explains it, lol... thanks tony! What would we do without you?

I have one of those supercool clock radios by my bedside at home. It doesn't use batteries at all, but if the power goes off or you unplug it to move it, it resets itself, somehow it gets the proper time and date from the electricity! It's great, you never ever get that annoying flashing clock when the power has been off.... Anyone ever heard of that?

Anyway, it doesn't reflect the new DST either, lol...

At first I thought you were talking about the clocks that get the time and date from the NIST radio signals. I've got one of those but they're always up to date with DST and they switched over correctly last Sunday. The big problem with the DST change is that any device programming its clock using software needs a software update, so it sounds like your clock needs its software updated. That includes all operating systems and many applications. I've never heard of one that gets its time/date from the power line but I'm sure that's possible. If that's the case, then whatever program is generating the time/date info needs to be updated at the server end.

It's funny, our Outlook calendars are all screwed up at work. Nobody knows which hour meetings are scheduled for. Leave it to our crack IT group to fuck things up, LMAO!

Just found out that my Garmin GPS isn't up to date on DST either. It's still showing an hour behind. Grrrrr...

Off to look for a patch.

Nope, the software patches include the later November switch so it's a one-time thing. Lucky for us...

Wow, wonder how the Tom Tom will handle it? lol.. haven't even turned it on recently, cause we haven't gone anywhere new... just back and forth from home to the cabin! A friend of ours just bought one on the internet, jt's coming to him in the mail... I'm so excited! We'll be tomtom buddies and can IM on it! How cool is that! I'm such a geek! lol... we were just a BBQ talking about it, and he kept playing with his nipples while talking about the Tom Tom, reminded me of Tony D and Bossman, they were calling us technosexuals, it's a brand new term.... ROFL.....

OK, let's get something straight here - Tony D doesn't play with his nipples but he would most certainly play with Vicky's. As far as Bossman is concerned, I couldn't tell ya but I do have my suspicions...

Well Vick, you better turn that Tom Tom on before the old DST switchover date comes or you won't be able to tell if it's set correctly until next November. I think we switched two weeks early and one week is already up so turn it on next week...

Technosexuals...not my term, must be Bossman's, probably came up with it while he was twisting his nipples, lol.

And how dare you compare me to Tony anyway??
And the funny thing is, is that most women that have big tits like to twist my nipples, why is that Vicky :?: :?:
Tony, I think VV has a secret desire to twist our nipples
BTW Tony/VV I would of thought your GPS go its time hack from the satellite??(same way that your cell phone does)
