Well happy 70th birthday Sir James Paul McCartney!
Some songs from his life...
And tributes to George and John....
... Olivia and Yoko seem very happy from the audience (...in the John Lennon tribute.)

Happy 70th Birthday to Sir Paul McCartney for Yesterday
Ironically, Birthday & Yesterday are 2 of the Beatles' most admired songs ...
PS. Sir Paul last week closed out the Diamond Jubilee Concert in London for Queen Elizabeth II celebrating 60 years as the British Monarch. He performed 5 tracks :- Magical Mystery Tour, All My Loving, Live & Let Die, Let It Be, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da. I thought he did a good job overall during the show.

I know covering a Beatles song is to some people like cursing in church. But this is different. Australian singer Mike Masse sings Beatles' classic song "Let It Be", all as fundraiser for his 11-month old son Noah, who was diagnosed with malignant brain tumor...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Thank you very much Gert-Jan for putting up Paul McCartney's song here. Hopefully, we do not have to hear George Harrison's two songs, "Isn't It A Pity" and "All Things Must Pass" for a very, very, very long time.
Very touching about Mike Masse's infant son.

I was on a family vacation in Kelowna BC when news of Elvis' death went down the beach from one transistor radio to the next, or word of mouth from person to person and then finally on the news that night. Things sure have changed since then.
Kicking Ass and Taking Names :)

I was in Spain when I heard. I was working on a remote site helping install a Tropo Scatter radio system for the Spanish Military. We took a break and went to the little coffee bar. There was a paper on the counter which read, "Ha Muerto Elvis Presley!" Then the article went into describing how he had been taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial hospital (I think it was.)
I asked the guy behind the counter, "Does this say what I think it says? Elvis Presley has died?" He said yes, so I read more of the article in English. He verified what I was reading/saying. I was absolutely floored. Absolutely astounded. He let me keep the paper, and I still have it, along with several Spanish language articles and magazines about the death.
