It only lasted one day probably because I did not eat up my plate. I put it away...I kind of felt it was going the wrong way...lol

After I met Kwon my life has changed a lot. Before I was researching the inapropriate neighborhoods. The brothels, gogo bars and prostitutes all over the world. Now all that has come to an end. Now I have found a new arena to research. The fresh markets in Thailand.

Yesterday Kwon and I went to some freshmarkets in Lampang. About one hour drive north of our village. We went there to buy food to our barbercueparty last night. I had told her that I wanted to try snake. That's why we had to drive up there,they do not have snake at the local market here.

This market was huge. They had all kind of things here. From food to ceramics and woodwork. And of course the difference in cultures comes to full display here. So you go in with an open mind here. They have all kind of exciting foods here and I ask Kwon a lot of questions about that.

So we went to pick up the snake. Kwon said it was my job to carry the snake. The damn thing was alive!! So there was no chance she was coming near it....lol after that we picked some wild boar and some meat from what she called "similar reindeer". So I guess it was some sort of deer. After that she picked up two bags of beetles!! They was also alive and I told her that was her job to carry


The barbercueparty went great. I got to say I have been very lucky with Kwon, her family and friends. They are all great people. One of them is the ladyboy Yeida. She is a riot. So much fun to be around. I have had many great laughs with her.

LOL.....I did not try the beetles.....there is no way I am eating insects.... .....the snake was ok to have tried....was not bad....but not too good either......the wild boar and the deer meat was good though. And I did not get sick this time lol......

Wow not quite sure what to say about that.... I'm all for broadening my horizons and living life, lol... but not sure if I want to eat snake or beetles! Unless maybe they were chocolate covered beetles? Hmmm... did the snake taste like chicken?

I also thought it would taste like chicken....but I am not sure....it was made like a stew with lot of chili in it...

Thanks Walt. This place is perfect. It is very peaceful and quiet...and if I want to go out and party...the small city Lamphun is only a 10 minutes drive away and the big city ChiangMai is one hour drive away. So I get the best of two worlds here. Now I only need to fast forward twenty years so I can retire....

It's amazing how every place on Earth looks just like home. I've seen pictures of Steinars area, Vicky's area, Monica's area, lots of places. And they all look like I could just walk down the street and visit. Once you get away from the governments and their bickering and arguing and fighting, the homes of the people all look like friends. And I love that.

Not the scenery pics, of course. Mt Denali doesn't look like Mt Evans in Colorado, nor like Mt Kilimanjaro, nor like Machu Picchu where Trisha went nor anything like that. I mean the close to home pics, where people shop, hang out and live. I love my friends.

I threw away a bunch of pictures from my travels in Spain for that reason once. I wasn't doing well and had just been kicked out of another place (another story, lol.) In packing up, I pulled out a shoe box of pictures and started looking at them. I still remember thinking, "Crap, no one will know where these are from. They could be from Montana or Idaho or West Texas. I don't need them." So I threw them all out. I'm still kicking my ass over that one. Feel free to take a shot.
