Bailey is not quite like that, but the little beggar does reach up and grab my hand with her paw if i try to stop rubbing her belly. She will also force her nose/head under my hand to make me pet/scratch her. I try to hold my hand down but she is one determined bitch, lol.
I can resist everything except temptation.

Harvey is exactly like that, and Skittles has learned that from him as well!
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Amazing gifts and pictures guys!
Speaking of dogs and this is the jack russell thread we finally laid Loki's ashes, our Jack Russell, to rest at the foot of the Jackfruit tree in our front yard. It seemed appropriate. Right at the front of the house where she could keep an eye on everything like she liked to do. This is my sweet girl!
She made it to 18, and lived her life to the fullest every single day, she didn't slow down till the very end. I would get another Jack Russell in a heartbeat,

I'm sure you have lots of happy memories. And so does Loki, wherever doggy heaven is.

Yeah she died in October and we had her cremated but we kept her ashes in a box for a while we weren't really sure what to do with them.
I hope we get some big beautiful jackfruits from this tree! The Jackfruit tree is the small one at the bottom two-thirds to the right. The moon was so beautiful the other night I just had to take a picture of it. Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

My g/f has buried the dogs she's had over the years at her cottage. It is her "happy place". Pretty much everyone has a dog or dogs, and they just all get together and wander up and down the waterfront in a pack, playing and yapping.
When someone shows up at their cottage after being away, the dogs all appear, pretty much asking "where's our buddy?"

I did the same thing with Fred. I loved the guy. He was hit by a motorcycle and didn't make it. What hurt so much was that it was my fault. Joe next door was coming home on his bike. I had Fred out in the driveway with me while I worked on the car. He should have been in the back yard. But as I worked, I'd look back at the gate and see him watching me. I knew he wouldn't run away, so I let him out to hang out in the driveway with me. But then Joe came home. When Fred heard the bike, he started barking and made a beeline for the street. I yelled, but, of course, he was "on point." Due to the fencing, Joe never saw him coming. Fred blasted out and Joe hit him.
Joe and Larry came over and dug a hole for him out by the back fence. I carried him back there and laid him to rest.
There were two young girls here in the park who would come over every week or so to take Fred for a walk to earn money. So they'd take him to the park and let him run. Once, they got a piece pf flat concrete. They painted it green, then wrote Fred's name on it. Then they put his pawprints on each side of his name. I thought it was so cool. I never dreamed it would become his headstone.

That must have hurt. For you and for Joe. But, as I said earlier to Vicky, as long as you have the memories, Fred is not really gone.lance_s wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 9:23 amThat's a lovely resting spot.stickyvicky wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 9:16 am Yeah she died in October and we had her cremated but we kept her ashes in a box for a while we weren't really sure what to do with them.

Oh, I even took Bailey back there and introduced her. Silly, I know, but ole Fred will always be remembered. He was good. I think Vicky posted for me a clip of him opening the front gate with his nose after just watching me and learning what I did when I went out. Pretty sharp. I'll look around.

I think I remember seeing that. Or at least, reading about it.WalterB wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 4:07 pm Oh, I even took Bailey back there and introduced her.
