Well, Liz, over here, we lived through things like, "Na, na, na, na - na, na, na ,na, ' hey, hey, hey goodbye."
When I grew up, I just said "See ya."

That's probably a better label for them Liz - but as Billy Connolly would say - it's all RocknRollLizLemon85 wrote: ↑May 17th, 2021, 10:53 am Nightwish is my favorite favorite band (they're a symphonic metal band btw)!
I had the pleasure to see them live about 2 years ago, it was amazing, they're doing a virtual concert at the end of this month.
They did an epic show at Wacken in 2013 in front of about 80.000 people:phpBB [media]
And another one with more of Troy (solo at the 3:30 mark):phpBB [media]
I also blame them for my broken English :

(sorry for fan girling, but this is one of the few things I'm really enthusiastic about)
Here was certainly a sin worth sinning and I applied myself with characteristic vigour to its practice

Not new music by any means!
You may have heard of a Welsh band called Catatonia, and their singer Cerys Matthews.
What you may not know is that she is interested in traditional Welsh folk songs and does a great programme on S4C - the Welsh Language version of Channel 4 over here.
It's called Golden Faled and each episode has 2 songs that are deep in the hearts of Welsh tradition. She looks at how they developed, who wrote them and the stories they are based on - then she sings a version of them.
Her voice is Marmite - you either love it or hate it; but I think she does the old folk songs really well - well, I'm hooked
So here is the most beautiful love song you will ever hear - about a guy who loses his cariad!

Once you get up here where I am, you realize that you have an absolutely beautiful view of your life - the good times AND the bad times. But you think. And you remember. You even realize how YOU have changed over the years - your looks, your thoughts, your ideas and your ideals, everything changes over the years.
Once you get up here, you remember all those good times, you remember all those people you knew, whether they were friends or not. And you remember those special ones. You remember those who became your best friends. And you wish there were some way to explain to them what they meant to you.
Sometimes life works for you, sometimes it doesn't. Those times are the times that we sometimes wish were different. Who knows why life turns out the way it does? "What if I had met Sally 5 years earlier?" "What if I had moved there," or "What if I had taken that other job?"
Life will always be filled with questions. And, to me, that's fine. I'm pretty certain that I'm where I'm supposed to be. We don't know where were going, and, sometimes, we don't even understand. But if you only keep moving forward, you will get to where you're supposed to be. Maybe you weren't meant to be the next Julia Roberts. Maybe I wasn't meant to be the next Elvis. But I was meant to make friends, and I did. And, thanks to that, I am happy. I have some of the best friends I could ever ask for. If you ever get a friend like that, love them, nurture them and keep them in your life. Most likely, they were meant to be there, for whatever unknown reason. But you don't need to question. You just need to accept. And you need to love.
I'm posting this one for someone special to me. When ever see her, I remember. I smile and I say, "Thank you for being my friend."

Yesterday, I watched a virtual concert for the first time.
I'm still indecisive, whether I liked it or not. It was great to see the band perform new songs for the first time, the HD broadcast worked quite well and the thought that thousands of people all around the world were watching simultaneously is cool, but it was super weird that there was just silence after each song and no addressing the audience.
To compensate that, they embedded everything in some sort of virtual landscape which sadly looked like a Windows 95 screensaver lol.
Having too much sex can cause memory loss. I read that on page 69 in a medical journal on the 4th of May in 2008.

Yeah, there's a lot of that "virtual realty" stuff that helps us do things that we couldn't in 1960. But there's just nothing like the roar of the crowd.

A song dedicated to Vicky's Show on Monday 7th June 2021 when the rain was coming down on a sunny day

'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that is why it is called the present."
YouTube suggested a video today that I found interesting. After watching it, another video from the same channel was suggested. I checked out the channel, and it seems to be focused on The Rolling Stones and various interesting animation styles (with a few live-action thrown in). I even found a video that I liked very much from a few years ago.
The channel is:

And here are three neat videos, in different styles, done to songs I happen to like.

I was never really into the throat-tearing heavy metal. This comedian that I first saw on "8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" apparently likes it, though.

I think some, if not all, of the scenes for that video are from Metropolis, which is a German film from 1927 (sez wikipedia). I think I have it on DVD, but I don't remember much about it.CaribbeanZack wrote: ↑June 12th, 2021, 5:07 pm Wicked song I first heard on the Van Helsing seriesphpBB [media]
I never saw the Van Helsing series, but I vaguely remember the song from way back. Futurama did a parody of it:
