ok they found the problem already, had nothing to do with our changes/upgrades... they let a security certificate expire.... grrrrrr..... that really pisses me off.... these certs should just renew automatically or they should have monitors/alarms set to remind them to renew! We lost SJ tonight because of it!

Talk to your service provider - many do automate certificate renewal.

So we had an asshole in Julia's show last night. Our ban button blocks the username and the IP. He is using a VPN so he can change IP's as fast as we can ban them. Normally when you refresh your screen, you would come back as the same username and be blocked because the username is stored in the cookies. That's why you don't have to relogin each time you refresh.

To get around that he is using a private browser, like incognito. There is no way for our program to detect if someone is in incognito mode, so we can't stop them from doing that. However we did find a script to install so that we can block VPN's. I had it installed this afternoon, so only time will tell if it works.

The downside to this of course is that it will hurt legitimate users from countries that do not allow porn. A lot of members have no choice but use a VPN to come to the websites. I don't see any way around this? Those members will not be able to come to the shows. It kills me because I'm trying to get more people to come to shows! But these assholes like the guy last night really give us no choice? My priority has to be to keep the camroom a safe place where our ban/kick/mute buttons actually work.

I'm not at a lot of shows, so I don't know how often a situation like that happens.
Is there an option that the moderators activate/deactivate the script that blocks VPN, so it doesn't have to run at all times? But that's probably not practical.
It's kind of sad that one person ruins it for people who have no other opportunity to enjoy their porn because of questionable regulations in their countries.

Just for fun, I googled this... this is how many people live in places where porn is illegal and they must use vpn. Actually in some of these places VPN's are illegal also...

It will be more custom programming.... but I'll see how difficult it will be.

To answer your question (as far as I know) No. it's in the script and runs. We have people logging into the room all show long, so the protection needs to stay there.

It used to be worst, Liz. Not a LOT worse, but worse. So I don't know if it was because we came down on assholes or have people wizened up that much (I'll never believe THAT one, lol.)

But this is Vicky's place. And Vicky wants a clean and decent place. OK, "Clean" is in the eyes of the beholder but you know what I mean. You can be as filthy as you want to be, But you'd better be nice to everyone. Us'n moderators certainly support and thank Vicky for such a fun and astounding atmosphere.

I'm gonna see if it can be done. I obviously can't let others have access to the server, but maybe we can program some sort of interface where a moderator could just X a box, and it disables all VPN access. Unfortunately it would kick out others using VPN at the same time who did nothing wrong... but at least it wouldn't have to be on all the time. Just when there are issues. Then you would have to wait the guy out, because he may check back every day to see if he has access again or not.

I understand you wanting to allow "good" members to have VPN access, but what about someone like me, whose VPN is already blocked? Would that get around my issue? (I really don't mind it now. If I have my VPN on and forget when I log into a show, I just turn it off and refresh the page. It's not really an issue.)

Based on experiences I've had, it seems that my VPN uses a series of (bogus?) IP's. So, sites that don't want VPN's (for the very reason we're discussing here) just block the series of IP's that VPN's use. Does that apply to all VPN's? I don't know. But maybe it'll help your research.

We are not blocking your VPN Walt. Your VPN is blocking us.

The way it works is our program tries to see your IP, your vpn detects that and blocks us because we are "spying" on you by wanting to know your IP.

Other vpn's like the one the asshole was using in Julia's show, don't care if we see your IP. At least that is my understanding of it.

Well this explains a lot of what I see on Instagram DMs! I get a lot of guys who DM me that are from several of these countries and they want to sextext, want to do videos calls to show off their cocks, want ladies to send them nude pics and the most requests I get come from India. Most are men from 19 - 35 years of age. They all have been blocked! I asked one guy if he would ask his mother or sister to send nude pictures to a stranger....got no answer! I blocked him. So it seems that is their way of getting around not being able to get to porn sites! Most of the time I am just laughing at them when I decide to talk!

I based my comment on actual error messages I have received. I don't remember the exact wording, but the gist was "We have blocked a series of IP's commonly used by VPN's" (or something like that.

There's absolutely nothing I can do about your vpn blocking us? Everyone who goes in the camroom we want to see their ip address. Your VPN will not connect to our webrtc because we ask for the ip address.. Your vpn is doing its job and protecting you from anyone wanting to see your ip. That's why you installed it right?

It will not connect to any other programs that use webrtc either so saying " it works everywhere else but here" is not true. You probably haven't tried to broadcast your cam on any other webrtc apps while using your vpn

I have read until I"m blue in the face. Like I said, I don't care who is doing it. And I do not 'stream a camera feed anywhere but here. So let me rephrase. It works everywhere else that I go to. Ialso said that it is not a problem for me. IU said that I just turn my VPN off and come on in.

I realize that it's all my fault, so I won't argue anymore.
