It's official.. the price of gas in Florida is up over $2 to... $2.09....
I'm still not using much gas at all these days - I barely get through a tank every 10 days...

1.89 at Kroger, but if things start locking down again wonder if prices will go down.

Happy to say that I signed up for a Shell card.. which gives you 5cents off a gallon + 5 cents off if you shop in certain places.. .
Gas today was $2.09 a gallon
I had shopped at a coffee shop and some asian food a few times.. and got 55 cents off 20 gallons of gas
my 20 gallons cost $32 instead of $42
Free to do it and really no hassle at all...

Just to make you feel better, I just did some serious math
and I think I paid 5,93$ yesterday...
Having too much sex can cause memory loss. I read that on page 69 in a medical journal on the 4th of May in 2008.
1.99 here at Kroger, seen some over $2

Yes.. anyone living in the USA has it easy..
Here we are in the USA fighting over $2000 a month to people in need during the Corona Virus...
We only pay $2.25 vs. $5.00 in Europe for our gas (or more)
Would there be a civil war if the government levied a $1.00 per gallon 'Corona Virus Emergency Tax" so people can get some money?

I don't know. I haven't tried for a little bit. I don't like driving, so I bought a house close to work. Retirement didn't really save me much because the route to work and the route to the stores aren't very different. I buy 8 gallons of gas for a fairly small Toyota every 3 to 3.5 weeks.
An article I read online:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 45855.html
says Colonial will be in a position to make a restart decision by tonight. While Rhode Island isn't listed as declaring an emergency, who knows what the panic-buying might be doing.
US Consumer Product Safety Commission had to put out a tweet telling people not to fill plastic bags with gas. seen plenty of photos of people filling jerry cans and other dumb shit.
from what I've read, there shouldn't be much disruption longer term.

Plastic BAGS? Are you sure, George?
Saw a clip on the morning news of some idiot filling up about 20 2.5 gallon plastic cans. He had lined them up in a row next to his truck and was working his way down the line filling them.
At $2.50/Gl. you'll get $6.25 worth of gas in a 2.5 gal can. The cans cost a minimum of $20. So there's $400. Then gas at $2.50/gl X 2.5 Gl X 20 = I hope he thinks it's worth it. Especially when gas goes back to $2/Gl, lol. So he's just spent $525 to hoard 40 gallons of gas. (that's $125.)

I can resist everything except temptation.
From this article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonial_ ... yberattack
On May 7, 2021, Colonial Pipeline, an American oil pipeline system that originates in Houston, Texas, and carries fuel oil mainly to the Southeastern United States, suffered a ransomware cyberattack that impacted computerized equipment managing the pipeline.[4][5][6] In response, Colonial Pipeline Company halted all of the pipeline's operations to contain the attack.
I saw one online article that said Colonial would make a decision by tonight (12 May 2021) whether they would restart. That was earlier in the day. According to American Pravda (AP) they have already restarted. The Colonial Pipeline carries gasoline, diesel and jet fuel from Texas to as far away as New York. About 45% of all fuel consumed on the East Coast arrives via the pipeline system.
So what you are looking at is panic-buying.
