Geez, just how big a tank does that hot little 'Vette have? Or did you fill up the VetteMobile? But, yes, I've been paying $40 - $50. I usually fill up when it reaches maybe 1/4 tank or less.

The one that has a fuel tank that takes a yottalitre?

Large truck should be arriving any day now. I've already had an email from on-star that the tyre pressure is low. Still haven't actually seen the truck.

Low tire pressure will cause the truck to sit lower to the ground. So now, you can't see it over the horizon :lmao:

Is it Yottalitre, or yolottalitre? And, no, I have no idea what that means.

I was surprised today on the way to breakfast to see a couple stations at $3.09/gal. I was careful, as one of them was a Circle K.

Remember a while back, stations started using a "Cash/Credit" pricing structure, where cash was at least 5¢/gal cheaper. So (attention, robbers) I started carrying more cash. Thankfully, it fortunately went away, I assume because no one liked it.

Well, it's back, altho not universal out here in the desert. Circle K, however, decided to start their own program, where you sign up for their "Loyalty card" or whatever they call it, and get the 5¢ (or more) discount if you use that card.

Well, I decided to sign up. First, my security software (which I trust completely - Malwarebytes) set off alarms all over the sign-up site. I got over all that and tried to sign up. But I had all kinds of problems and finally decided, "It ain't worth all this." So I stopped.

Leaving Sierra Vista on my way home on Tuesday, I stopped at the Circle K in Huachuca, about 10 miles north of SV. I saw the sign flashing back and forth between two prices. So, without looking closer, I went in and paid my cash deposit. For some reason, I looked at the price before I started pumping. It showed the credit, or higher price. So I stopped and went back inside to ask about that. The clerk said, "That's our Savings Card price." So I shook my head, went back and pumped my gas and left.

I couldn't gripe. When I went back out, I looked at the sign. Sure enough, it was flashing between "Credit" and "Card" or whatever it said. So, like it or not, the problem was mine. It was still a pretty good price, considering how high prices are today.

Anyway, This Circle K, Remember? I was going to breakfast? :lmao: The CK station next to IHOP was only showing one price. $3.09. So I went there and got my gas. Once home, I opened up Gas Buddy and saw there were numerous prices at $3.09 around the city, or within a few cents. There were a number still up in the $3.35 range, but (back on subject, lol,) I paid $3.09 this morning.

Since I don't have the truck yet, I can't see it anyway. But I've seen a picture of the plates they are going to put on it.

Its yottalitre. That is 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 litres. So it may as well be yolotta (whole lotta) litres. I haven't done the arithmetic, but I'm pretty sure a yottalitre is more than the volume of the milky way.

Different prices for cash and credit card seems to be a lot more common in the US than in Canada. I have seen a few stores that have a sign up saying 3% more for credit card payments. I have seen news reports that petrol prices should start to stabilize or even come down. I just wonder what will go up to compensate.

Before leaving on my trip, I checked gas prices the night before with Gas Buddy. I knew I could make it to Abilene, just over 430 miles. At Abilene, about the cheapest station I found was at Walmart for $3.02 a gallon. So off I went.

When I got off the freeway at Abilene and got to the first intersection to turn right, across the street was a Quik Trip station advertising gas for $2.77 a gallon. Well, I ain’t passing this up. So I pulled in, found a pump, (they were busy) and looked. Sure enough regular for $2.77 a gallon. So I filled up, 12 gallons, saving $.25 a gallon.

As I traveled through Abilene back to the freeway, I saw several stations at $2.77 up to about $2.85 a gallon. Temple was another 185 miles. And now I was on a state highway, as opposed to the freeway. In several small towns the prices were the same, $2.77 to $2.85 a gallon. When I got here, I looked up Gas Buddy, and sure enough, the prices shown were in that price range. So obviously, gas prices went down $.30 a gallon overnight. I sure hope they’re that far down in your area.

This week- Oil just dropped by 10%, or $9 per barrel? How will that translate to gas prices?

To lower gas prices, Biden authorizes release from US strategic oil reserve:

Here in South Carolina we are paying between $2.91 to $2.95 per gallon for unleaded. Diesel is at $3.90 per gallon. Don't remember what super is, will have check the next time we get gas.
